My favorite gathering of billionaire ‘Eat the Bugs’ Bond villains.

Last year’s theme for the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) glittering attendees focused on ‘rebuilding trust.’ This boiled down to finding new packaging that the peasants would swallow as ‘improved’ for the same globalist message that the elites were spewing in between bites of Wagyu and snorts of an 18-year-old Macallan.

They settled, as most Brahmins do, on telling us the contrary information we were receiving about their benevolent plans for our well-ordered existence was being purposefully manipulated to deceive us, simple and impressionable creatures as we Luddites are.

…A fair portion of the rational world is looking this this pretentious, creepy clique of over-the-top Bond bad guys, and wondering why anyone gave a flying Fritz about the unelected party-going WEF to begin with.

YOU’RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME

For instance – Ms. Von Der Leyen. A miserable failure of a German politician who, in the classic fashion, has failed steadily upward through the European Union hierarchy to become President of the European Commission.

This year in Dah-VŌS, she’s not harping on the planet being saved as much as she’s sweating saving their schweet New World Order gig.

And what’s the threat that she and the others see, which she believes will be mollified with “rebuilding trust” lip-service, even as she declares war on it?

MISINFORMATION

For all their efforts at bridging the gap, lesser humans have stubbornly resisted eating their bugs.

Signs of active resistance have alarmed the European Union hierarchy for some time as “Green” coalitions are shattered in regional and state elections, and populist parties gain momentum across the continent. Most worrying for the Brussels elites is that the phenomenon is not just happening in former Eastern bloc nations but G-7 players, too.

Unruly voters in South America went so far as to reject the normal socialist dictator stereotype and elect a wild-haired TV reprobate nick-named ‘El Loco’ who harangues his betters publicly, or worse – to their faces.

AWKWARD

No one has been as slavishly dedicated to the climate cult cause as former jet-setting Climate Czar John Kerry. His dreary, dour horse face emerged from more Gulfstreams on more runways around the world than any Arabian sheik with a personal oil field and refinery. No one could mournfully intone his message of doom and gloom, sacrifice, and altered reality better than the Privileged Prophet of Pedantic Puffery himself.

Davos won’t be the same without John Effin’ Kerry bearing the weight of the bad boys of the United States upon his weary, suffering back any longer.

Actually, though…Davos won’t be the same, maybe ever again, precisely because of us malcontented cowboys—we colonial upstarts of the worst sort.

There were already rumblings this year’s gathering was going to be less…exclusive. Less a conclave of power and brilliance and more a well-established social club of like-minded people who already know each other but felt a change of view out the window as they held their cocktail would be nice. Besides, they’d already committed.

…Interestingly enough, there’s also a note that my favorite group of eat-the-bug bazillionaire Malthusians are poised to gather once again for their WEF conclave in Davos this week. But it seems it’s not the hot ticket it was.

Is interest naturally waning, or is it the same public and fiduciary pressure that’s causing banks and investment funds – who are many Davos’ most glittering attendees – to remove themselves from ESG and financial climate cabals?

Supposedly, Trump will address the gathering by video link on Thursday. That should be an interesting little chat.

But they are going to be bereft of the majority of the most devoted climate cult heads of state who usually make up the WEF’s legitimacy factor and carry out the puppetmasters’ edict when the private planes and helos leave.

Only a wounded, chancellor-in-name-only Olaf Scholz will be attending, and, frankly…who cares? He probably wants one more shot at the dinner buffets while he can.

Schwab and company, with the lack of first-tier attendees (Ooo, the prime minister of Spain was coming – very nice), were sort of obligated to invite the estimable President Milei back, who unloaded on them again.

But the fella who delivered the coup de grâce was someone who, by nature of his stature in the business world, is a already member of the club.

But by nature of his new job, they were obligated to invite and say, “Oh, wonderful!” when told he’d be addressing the gathering by video.

…Introducing Trump, Davos founder Klaus Schwab told the new president that his return and his agenda have “been at the focus of our discussions this week.” He invited Trump to speak at the summit in person next year.

The new and improved President Trump 2.0 let fly with his characteristic unfiltered frankness.

Oil, the EU, NATO, tariffs, trade, etc – he hit them all.

President Donald Trump used an address Thursday to the World Economic Forum to promise global elites lower taxes if they bring manufacturing to the U.S. and threatened to impose tariffs if they don’t.

Speaking by video from the White House to the annual summit in Davos, Switzerland, on his third full day in office, Trump ran through his flurry of executive actions since his swearing-in and claimed that he had a “massive mandate” from the American people to bring change. He laid out a carrot-and-stick approach for private investment in the U.S.

“Come make your product in America and we will give you among the lowest taxes as any nation on earth,” Trump said. “But if you don’t make your product in America, which is your prerogative, then very simply, you will have to pay a tariff — differing amounts — but a tariff, which will direct hundreds of billions of dollars and even trillions of dollars into our treasury to strengthen our economy and pay down debt under the Trump administration.”
