Ramadan and the Religion of Peace

Ramadan and the Religion of Peace

One of the most idiotic arguments of the century has been the claim that Islam is a religion of peace.

Whatever else you can associate Islam with, and I have quite a few ideas that I need not discuss right now, “peace” is not high on the list.

As Pakistan and Afghanistan, two Muslim countries, have descended into a hot war, complete with massive bombing campaigns and armed clashes, the Taliban is sending suicide bombers in asymmetrical attacks on Pakistan.

Two ‘Islam is the religion of peace’ nations going to war during Ramadan and killing each other with suicide bombings might just be the most ironic thing of 2026 so far. https://t.co/7jcC9JugiE

During this holy month of Ramadan, Muslims in the West are trying to argue that it would be a grave insult to Muslims for the United States to attack Iran.

It would be proof of our Islamophobia or something.

BREAKING: 🇸🇦🇵🇰🇦🇫 Saudi Arabia says it is ready to deploy its Air Force to fight the Afghan Taliban if Pakistan requests it. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have a defense pact under which an attack on one country is considered an attack on both. pic.twitter.com/ZWa8Vpinby

Of course, phobias are irrational fears of something, so if some people are afraid of Muslims, it would be a bit difficult to say they have a phobia, given how often Islamists threaten to kill infidels.

When I was deployed to Iraq in ’06 and ’07, Ramadan was the month when terrorist attacks on our convoys ratcheted up tenfold. They loved killing us during Ramadan. Lost two friends in one month.

Also, the U.S. didn’t invade Iraq during Ramadan, so Ilhan’s post is inaccurate. https://t.co/aQlTGu3WWb

Ilhan Omar is rightly getting trashed for her declaration that America attacks Muslim countries because they are Muslim, and the fact that we keep going to war with Islamists during Ramadan is proof.

Sure, she gets all her facts wrong—the wars she cited had no relation to Ramadan, but that is just her brand, isn’t it?

What’s striking to me is how ridiculous the whole argument is, even if it were true that American strikes happen to fall during Ramadan. This seems to be a prime time for war in the Islamic world.

Egyptian Copt Christian explains how Egypt became Muslim:

“We are one of the first Christians in the world. Islam took over by the sword. They killed the men, raped the women, enslaved the children.

Egypt went from 0% to 90% Muslim. It’s a cult of sex, perversion and violence.” pic.twitter.com/wiedbAdrYR

The idea that Islam is the “religion of peace” is absolutely absurd. Anybody who knows history at all should be able to tell you that Islam spread by the sword, not through conversion, and that Muslims overran Christian civilizations and forced conversions.

Has anybody ever heard of Constantinople? It was the Christian seat of the Eastern Roman Empire, conquered by Muslims. The Hagia Sophia, a mosque today, was built in the 6th century as a Cathedral. I assure you that the Christians in Constantinople did not hand it over willingly.

All this absurdity about attacking Iran during Ramadan is simply playing on the ignorance and credulity of liberals. Iranian forces are right now out on the streets of Tehran killing protesters, while Islamists here in America whine about Ramadan being all about peace.

I don’t know for sure whether bombing Iran would be a good or bad strategic move, partly because I don’t have all the relevant information and partly because making predictions is hard, especially about the future. As they say, the enemy makes plans too.

But I fervently wish for the end of the Iranian regime, and expect the attacks to happen in the next 5 or so days, regardless of what I think. And, I am quite certain, Ramadan has nothing to do with the timing, and no Muslims outside people of Omar’s ilk give a damn about whether the attacks happen now or after Ramadan is concluded.

Editor’s note: If we thought our job in pushing back against the Academia/media/Democrat censorship complex was over with the election, think again. This is going to be a long fight.
