Ava Phillippe, the 26-year-old daughter of actress Reese Witherspoon and actor Ryan Phillippe, has taken another step into the entertainment industry with a role in a newly released country music video, as reported by Fox News.
Phillippe appears in rising country artist Ella Langley’s music video for the song “Choosin’ Texas,” which debuted on Wednesday, April 1.
The video also features established country figures, including Miranda Lambert, along with actors Luke Grimes and Kaitlin Butts.
In the video, Phillippe portrays a woman at a bar who draws the attention of Langley’s on-screen boyfriend, played by Grimes. Through a sequence of flashbacks, the storyline reveals that Grimes’ character and Phillippe’s character share a romantic past.

As the narrative unfolds, Langley’s character notices the lingering connection and ultimately turns to Lambert’s character for support. The video concludes with Langley and Lambert leaving together, while Grimes’ character remains outside the bar.
Phillippe shared her experience working on the project in a post on Instagram.
“This was such a fun shoot & I couldn’t be more grateful to be included in this stellar cast,” Ava wrote. “Ella is a true storyteller & getting to witness her creativity up close has me even more excited to see what she does next.”
Phillippe has grown up in the public eye as the daughter of two well-known actors.

Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe co-starred in the film Cruel Intentions, while Witherspoon has also been recognized for roles in Legally Blonde, Big Little Lies and Walk the Line, the latter earning her an Academy Award.
In a March 2024 interview with Extra, Witherspoon spoke about her daughter’s early steps in the acting field, describing her as still “getting her feet wet” while she works to determine her career path.
“That’s what always annoys me about this whole nepotism talk with the industry,” he explained.
“You know, so many people grow up and end up doing what their parents do, you know, to some degree or another…. To me, I always get offended for the children of actors and entertainers when people bring that up because, yeah, of course, that’s what they’ve grown up around.”
Before appearing in Langley’s video, Phillippe had minor roles in television, including single-episode appearances in Ransom Canyon and Doctor Odyssey.
Langley’s song “Choosin’ Texas” has seen significant chart success. Originally released in October 2025, the track reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in February.
It was later overtaken by Bad Bunny’s “DTMF” and Taylor Swift’s “Opalite,” before returning to the top position in early March.
The song continued to fluctuate on the charts before reclaiming the No. 1 spot for a fourth time on March 28.
That milestone made Langley the artist with the most No. 1 appearances so far in 2026, surpassing Swift, who had previously reached the top three times this year with songs including “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Opalite.”
Lambert not only appears in the music video but also co-wrote the song with Langley. During a March interview with Country Countdown USA, Langley reflected on the track’s performance and her collaboration with Lambert.
“We were talking on FaceTime the other night. We’ve made history with this song, both just baffled and grateful. We loved the song, but never thought it would do this. There’s no way you can predict it,” she said.
“She said to me, ‘You are more important than this job.’ She made me care for myself. Having someone like that made me feel like I’m OK.”
