Republican Rep Randy Fine Says People In Gaza Can ‘Starve Away’ Until Hostages Are Released

Republican Florida Rep. Randy Fine took to X on Tuesday, saying that civilians should continue to starve in Gaza until the remaining hostages are released by the terror group Hamas.

With over 200 hostages taken during the Oct. 7, 2023 attack against Israel, Hamas has slowly released both Israeli and non-Israeli hostages, dead and alive. Responding to a recent ABC News post about hospitals in the Gaza Strip reporting the deaths of 15 people — including four children — due to famine and malnutrition, Fine called for the release of the remaining hostages. “Release the hostages. Until then, starve away. (This is all a lie anyway. It amazes me that the media continues to regurgitate Muslim terror propaganda.),” Fine wrote.

According to ABC News, Gaza’s Hamas-run Ministry of Health alleged the deaths occurred over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths caused by famine and malnutrition to 101— including 80 children—since the start of the Israel-Gaza war.

In May, members of the World Health Organization (WHO) reported their concerns about the risk of famine in Gaza as the war continues to disrupt humanitarian aid. According to the WHO, an Integrated Food Security Phase Classification report warned that an estimated 71,000 children under five are expected to be “acutely malnourished” over the next 11 months due to alleged aid blockades.

A spokesperson for the Gaza Health Ministry (GHM) told Reuters Tuesday that the hospitals are allegedly “overwhelmed by the number of casualties from gunfire,” and “can’t provide much more help for hunger-related symptoms because of food and medicine shortages.” However, outsider verification from the GHM on the death toll from starvation has not been reported as of Tuesday.

Since his campaign, President Donald Trump has called for peace between Gaza and Israel, with an estimated 50 hostages still remaining, according to the Associated Press. Among the estimated hostages still in Hamas’ custody, Israel believes 27 are dead, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying there are “doubts” that more may have died, AP News reported.

Fine’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
