Jennifer Daskal, a Biden administration official who helped launch the short-lived Disinformation Governance Board, has been appointed as an advisor to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) as of Feb. 1.
Daskal will serve as amicus curiae, meaning “friend of the court,” and will advise judges on “legal issues related to foreign surveillance warrants in national security cases,” according to the Washington Free Beacon.
Daskal is best known for her involvement in the Biden-era Disinformation Governance Board, for which she drafted the character. Daskal reportedly helped select Nina Jankowicz to serve as the board’s director. Jankowicz, you’ll recall, is the woman who performed a Mary Poppins parody about “disinfo.” (RELATED: ‘Do Not Capitulate’: Ex-Biden ‘Disinformation’ Czar Goes To Europe To Advocate Against US ‘Autocracy’)
In 2016, Jankowicz promoted allegations that President Donald Trump colluded with Russia, according to the Washington Examiner.
Jankowicz “has cited Christopher Steele as a disinformation expert, made misleading claims about the funding of his dossier, cast doubt on the Hunter Biden laptop story, downplayed Iranian election meddling, and critiqued the Wuhan, China, lab leak hypothesis,” the Washington Examiner claims.
Daskal previously served as senior counterterrorism counsel at Humans Rights Watch, a nonprofit which received a $100 million grant from George Soros in 2010. Daskal herself was the recipient of an Open Society Institute Fellowship, an organization founded by Soros.
Human Rights Watch claimed, in 2017, that the election of President Donald Trump “capped a campaign marked by misogynistic, xenophobic, and racist rhetoric and Trump’s embrace of policies that would cause tremendous harm to vulnerable communities, contravene the United States’ core human rights obligations, or both.”
Republicans are concerned by Daskal’s new appointment.
The presiding judges of the FISA Court just appointed Jennifer Daskal to advise the secretive court. She helped create the Biden Admin’s Disinformation Governance Board.
Insane.

“The American people need to have confidence in the people tasked to serve as amici before the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court,” Republican Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley told the Washington Free Beacon.
Republican Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt sounded the alarm on X, calling Daskal’s appointment “[i]nsane.”
“Yet another reason for reform,” Schmitt continued, attaching a video of himself grilling Daskal on her involvement in the Disinformation Governance Board during a hearing in 2025. (RELATED: DHS-Linked ‘Misinformation’ Researcher Says She Advised, Influenced Twitter’s Censorship Regime)
“Senator, it’s my view that it’s not appropriate for the government to censor any points of view,” Daskal says in the video.
“Literally, you were a part of the Disinformation Governance Board of the United States of America. My contention is, the Orwellian name of Ministry of Truth was already taken, so the Disinformation Governance Board slid right in. And you were a big part of this. I mean, you wrote the charter,” Schmitt returns.
