Revisiting the Hunter Biden Laptop Excuses

I had an argument with a friend a few years back about the Hunter Biden laptop cover-up. 

The basic issue was not about its authenticity or anything like that. It was about the censorship and the conspiracy to “debunk” it–it took over two years for some news organizations to acknowledge the laptop was genuine, and only then when it was used as evidence in his legal proceedings. 

The laptop was suppressed for one simple reason: the Pravda Media and the political establishment–including the FBI, our intelligence agencies, and members of “the resistance” in government all wanted Trump to be booted, so they lied, censored, and buried the story for transparently political reasons.

Why did that not bother my friend?

The answer: Hunter Biden was not going to be president, so why did it matter? The fact that he was a key member of the Biden crime family was irrelevant to them. A drugged-out child who trafficked women, broke laws with abandon, and collaborated with America’s adversaries was just the price you paid to get a fine man like Biden as president.

Well, it turned out that Hunter Biden WAS president, or rather a member of the Politburo, which secretly ran the government for much of Biden’s “presidency.” We have known that for a long time–he was running policy meetings at Joe Biden’s side and even living in the White House, and traveling abroad with him.

Now, Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson have named Hunter Biden as a member of the exclusive “Politburo” which was secretly running the country, which brings up the obvious question for my liberal friends who were fine with covering up his degeneracy: if Hunter Biden really was one of the key decisionmakers in the country, does the coverup of the Biden laptop bother you?

For many, the answer is still “No.” Perhaps not all of them, but for the Trump-deranged, it certainly is. 

How do I know that for sure?

Because they have admitted it. In the classic “You have to destroy the village to save it” tactic, Democrats threw democratic processes such as allowing voters to choose their leaders and following the normal processes that legitimize our government’s power out the window because they needed to “save democracy.” 

You have to destroy democracy to save it. 

That’s the excuse for employing hoax after hoax after hoax to deceive the American public. Left to their own devices and with all the relevant information at hand, they would make the wrong choices; therefore, the role of the power brokers is to manipulate them into doing the right thing. 

This is exactly the same tactic used to promote climate change hysteria. No doubt some of the climate change fanatics genuinely believe that global warming is a problem, but no serious person believes that “we have only X years” to prevent extinction. Every time they make dire predictions, they are lying–for our own good. 

Same with the COVID hysteria, and so many other hoaxes. Often, the hoaxes are pushed to ensure that the hoaxers accumulate more wealth and power, but often they are pushed by people who have convinced themselves that lying is the only way to get the “right” outcome. 

The wonder is not that they do this–human beings will often do bad things if they think they can get what they want without consequence. 

No, what I can’t understand is why so many people are fine with being lied to all the time. Do the people who believed NPR when they said that the Hunter Biden laptop was an irrelevant distraction still listen to them and believe the next hoax? 

You bet.

It’s really dispiriting to realize that so many people are content to live in their bubbles even after they learn that the reality in which they live is totally fake. 

They are like Cypher in The Matrix, who so wanted to return to the fake world of The Matrix that he betrayed his friends to the Agents. Living a fake, comfortable reality is so pleasant that they are willing to betray everybody else.
