Vice President JD Vance has officially been sworn into office with an unspoken power that no vice president has wielded before.
No, we aren’t talking about his ability to talk to blue-collar workers or his insight into Silicon Valley, which will be valuable. Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, are the first vice presidential couple in decades, young enough to bring a baby boom to the U.S.

America’s birth rate has been declining since 2007, dropping about 19% between 2007 and 2022 and reaching a record low in 2023. This is a serious issue in a broader conversation about national identity. Still, at the base of it, the American people often feel the economy and social factors deter them from even considering starting a family.
Our country desperately needs a baby boom, similar to what happened after World War II, when 42 million Americans were born between 1955 and 1964. President Donald Trump has promised to get the U.S. economy back on the right track, creating the perfect opportunity for the Vance family to step in.
Ladies,
We should be looking at our husbands the way Usha Vance looks at JD Vance. It’s beautiful.

It’s indisputable that the Vance children stole the show at the inaugural event on Monday, starting with his youngest child, Mirabel, and her bandaid fashion accessories. No parent in the country looked at sweet little Mirabel’s bandaids and thought, “Oh, no, what happened to her fingers!” We all knew them to be a toddler bribe. Mothers can picture Usha Vance telling Mirabel that she could keep her bandaids on as long as she promised to behave well during the inauguration.

Then, at the Capital One Arena parade, Ewan Vance tussled his parent’s hair while his younger brother, Vivek, clung tightly to his teddy bear. It was heartwarming to see the adorable family handle the responsibility of raising young children with such grace in front of the public eye. There is not a mom among us that hasn’t done the smile through clenched teeth while “nicely” telling your child to stop and sit down. I’m loving the normalcy and relatability they bring. pic.twitter.com/6EqskPUNp6

Still, to increase the national birth rate, the Vance family will need to lead the way. While several babies were born in the White House, most of them were to the president’s children or nephews. In the past century, there hasn’t been a single vice president who has expanded his family while in office. It is no easy thing to ask a freshly sworn-in vice president and his wife to increase their parental responsibilities, but Mr. and Mrs. Vance, the country needs you.
To the naysayers who claim it isn’t right to pressure them into expanding their family, I say buzz off. Not only should we be doing this to the Vances, but also to all of our friends and family in their childbearing years. Growing your family is the greatest gift God gives us. We should want this blessing for everyone we know.
American births accounted for just 16% of U.S. population growth in 2024.
Our renaissance won’t come by making America into India, or by maximizing tech innovation.

If this administration is serious about changing our country’s culture, which is overtly anti-family and anti-children, the best way to do that is through personal leadership. What a beautiful example it would set for the nation if the second couple got to make a baby announcement while in office. (ROOKE: Trump Has A Plan To Rescue LA From The Democrats)
Usha Vance is an accomplished lawyer. She clerked for two Supreme Court justices and worked as a litigator for a high-powered San Francisco firm. Her having another child would open the minds of women who pursued similar paths to do the same. Not to mention that she was stunning at the inaugural events. Her fashion choices were impeccable, each one better than the last, which makes me excited to see how she would style a growing baby bump.

The couple are relatable on a level no other second family has been able to be. This is a once-in-a-nation moment to achieve something so inherently American, but it won’t last. For the first time in decades, Americans have hope for the future. A vice presidential baby would say that hope is real, that the second couple feels it, too.
