Legendary comedian and television icon Roseanne Barr, now 72, recently experienced a harrowing brush with death on her Texas property when a tractor accident left her pinned and fighting for her life.

Despite the danger, Barr’s trademark grit and resilience helped her survive the terrifying ordeal—proving she’s just as tough as ever.

Texas Dream Becomes a Close Call

Barr has long dreamt of living in the Lone Star State, and after finally settling on a 30-acre property in Texas, she says the experience has been “a dream come true.”

But that dream nearly turned into a nightmare during a recent solo mowing session.

The former Roseanne star was operating her large tractor when disaster struck. While navigating her land, she accidentally hit a tree, causing a heavy branch to fall and trap her inside the machine.

“I’m doing a lot of mowing. I’ve got a really fantastic tractor out here, and I’m mowing,” Barr explained during an interview with Fox News.

“The only problem is I don’t clear the trees quite as good as I should, and I’m always hitting a tree and knocking it over, and it always hits me in the head.”

What might sound like an exaggeration turned out to be deadly serious. Barr described one particularly terrifying moment: “I had this one tree, I guess it was two nights ago, I knocked it and a great big old branch fell right on my head and trapped me in my tractor. So I knew I had to get out of there, and it weighed about a hundred pounds.”

A Fight for Survival

Alone and injured, Barr didn’t panic. Instead, she relied on faith, strength, and sheer determination to save herself. “I was like, ‘Oh, I’m 72 years old,’ but I just said my mighty prayers that always work,” she recounted.

“I said, ‘Come on God, I am 72 years and I just want to be able to harness all this strong Russian energy that I know I still have in there if you’re with me.’ And I just flipped it.”

Barr said it took her over an hour to move the branch “inch by inch” before she was finally able to free herself. While many would be shaken, Barr emerged proud and empowered by the experience.

“I just flipped it,” she repeated, emphasizing her no-quit attitude.

And despite the danger, Barr is still out on the tractor mowing her vast property herself. Toughness clearly runs deep in her Texas roots.

Not Leaving Texas Anytime Soon

Interestingly, Barr had previously considered leaving Texas for the sunshine and luxury of Palm Beach, Florida. But her brief flirtation with the move ended after experiencing the sweltering Florida heat.

“I love it down there. I really do, and I was considering doing it, but then there was this one day that was so damn hot,” Barr said with characteristic humor.

“And I [was] just like, ‘I think I’d rather burn in hell than live here in the sun.’ It was so hot. I mean, Texas is hot, too, but oh my God.”

For Barr, creature comforts still matter—even if it’s something as simple as enjoying a cigarette in peace. “I like to go to a place where you can smoke cigarettes in the summer…. I couldn’t even smoke a cigarette over there, and I can’t have that,” she quipped.

A New Chapter: Roseanne Barr Is America

Despite recent injuries and near-death experiences, Barr isn’t slowing down.

She’s gearing up for the release of her new documentary, Roseanne Barr Is America, premiering Tuesday, June 10.

The documentary will explore Barr’s personal journey and what she sees as a quintessentially American success story.

“I went from poverty to wealth through comedy,” she said.

“That’s a typical Jewish-American experience in my generation and a few other generations for minority people that are funny. I think it’s typical, you know.”

Barr’s story resonates far beyond celebrity circles. Unlike many in Hollywood, she remains grounded, candid, and committed to telling stories that reflect the everyday American experience.

While Barr’s tractor accident was undoubtedly frightening, it also showcased her trademark resilience and unshakable spirit.

At 72, she continues to live life on her own terms—mowing her own land, speaking her mind, and staying true to who she is.

Fans across the country are thankful she made it out safely and are eagerly awaiting her latest project.

With Roseanne Barr Is America, it seems the legendary comic still has plenty to say—and plenty of fire left.
