Russia Shares Intelligence with Iran That Could Enable Tehran to Strike U.S. Forces, Officials Say

Tensions in the Middle East have intensified after U.S. intelligence indicated Russia has shared information with Iran that could help Tehran target American ships, aircraft and other assets in the region.

The disclosure underscores how the war dynamics are expanding beyond direct U.S. and Israeli action, drawing in Moscow in a way that demands a clear, principled American response.

Two officials familiar with the matter spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the intelligence, cautioning that there is no indication Moscow is actively directing Tehran on how to use the data. Still, the finding marks the first public sign that Moscow is willing to involve itself in this broader conflict.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt downplayed the issue, telling reporters that “it clearly is not making any difference with respect to the military operations in Iran because we are completely decimating them.”

She also refused to say whether President Donald Trump spoke to Vladimir Putin about the reported intelligence sharing or whether he believes Moscow should face repercussions, stating she would let the president speak to that himself.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov offered cautious remarks, stating that there has been ongoing dialogue with Iranian leadership and that Moscow will “certainly continue this dialogue.”

He also declined to provide a direct comment on whether Russia has supplied military or intelligence support to Tehran since the start of the Iran conflict.

The broader context includes renewed Russian-Iranian cooperation as Moscow seeks missiles and drones to sustain its own war in Ukraine.

Declassified intelligence from the Biden administration showed Iran supplies Moscow with attack drones and has assisted the Kremlin with building a drone manufacturing facility, highlighting a dangerous, growing synergy between the two adversaries.

Asked whether this revelation had shaken Trump’s faith in Putin’s ability to reach a peace deal in Ukraine, Leavitt answered that “I think the president would say that peace is still an achievable objective with respect to the Russia-Ukraine war.”

This remark stands in for a broader insistence among supporters that diplomacy must be backed by undeniable U.S. strength and readiness to act if negotiations stall.

From a conservative perspective, the unfolding exchange reinforces a decisive argument for a robust American posture.

A president backed by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth would emphasize deterrence, reinforce missile defenses, and ensure allied coordination to prevent Iran or Russia from gaining the upper hand.

The administration’s handling of the matter should be guided by a clear strategy that protects American troops and preserves stability in a volatile region.

Therefore, the United States must apply stepped sanctions, expand intelligence sharing with allies, and strengthen naval and air defenses around critical assets in the region. It is essential to send a unequivocal message that America will not tolerate Moscow or Tehran acting at will against U.S. forces and partners.

The aim is not merely to react but to deter future attempts to subordinate American security to a theater of competing powers. In this hour, leadership must pair stern resolve with practical leverage, aligning political will with a proven, field-tested military posture.

That combination is what keeps America safe, keeps our allies confident, and keeps the adversaries cautious about crossing lines they should never cross.
