Sarah Ferguson Dropped by Children’s Charity After Epstein Apology Email Surfaces

A children’s hospice charity has cut ties with Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, following the release of an email showing she apologized to Jeffrey Epstein more than a decade ago, as reported by Page Six.

Julia’s House, which provides support for children with life-limiting conditions, announced on Monday that Ferguson would no longer serve as a patron.

“Following the information shared this weekend on the Duchess of York’s correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia’s House has taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity,” the organization said in a statement.

The charity added, “We have advised the Duchess of York of this decision and thank her for her past support.”

The Daily Mail reported over the weekend that Ferguson, now 65, had written to Epstein in April 2011, after previously admitting in an interview that their relationship was a “gigantic error of judgment.”

In her email, she told Epstein she wanted to “humbly apologize” and described him as a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend.”

“I know you feel hellaciously let down by me from what you were either told or read,” Ferguson reportedly wrote. She explained that she had been warned not to have further contact with him.

“I was instructed to act with the utmost speed if I would have any chance of holding on to my career as a children’s book author and a children’s philanthropist,” she said.

Ferguson acknowledged in the message that she wished she had taken more time to consider the consequences of her actions instead of acting out of “overriding fear.” She also claimed that she and Epstein “had both been blamed for stuff we have not done.”

Her spokesperson told the Daily Mail that Ferguson had been “taken in by [Epstein’s] lies” at the time of the correspondence.

“As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia,” the statement said.

The spokesperson also explained that the email was sent in the context of advice she received to ease Epstein’s threats against her.

Epstein was first arrested in 2006 on charges of soliciting prostitution, serving 13 months after a plea deal. He was arrested again in 2019 on sex trafficking charges but died later that year at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York while awaiting trial.

Ferguson’s former husband, Prince Andrew, had his own ties to Epstein, having met him in 1999. Andrew was later accused of sexual abuse by Virginia Giuffre, allegations he denied before settling out of court.

After those allegations surfaced, Queen Elizabeth II removed Andrew’s royal titles and duties.
