Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings criticized Democrats on Friday following the arrest of Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of assassinating Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk.
Robinson allegedly fired the fatal shot during a TPUSA “Prove Me Wrong” event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, where Kirk was debating students.
On his program, “The Scott Jennings Podcast,” Jennings played a compilation of clips showing prominent Democrats and left-leaning commentators referring to President Donald Trump and conservatives as “fascists.”
The montage included remarks from Democratic figures such as Kamala Harris, Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Dan Goldman of New York, Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland, and Representative Eric Swalwell of California.
“[Former Vice President] Kamala Harris, AOC, Dan Goldman, various people on MSNBC, [Democratic Gov.] Tim Walz [of Minnesota],” Jennings said.
“You know these people. Whatever could have given Tyler Robinson the idea that Charlie Kirk and conservatives are fascists who want to destroy the country? We may never know folks, we may never know,” he added sarcastically.
Jennings noted that Harris intensified her criticism of Trump in the final weeks of the 2024 campaign.

On October 23, during a CNN town hall, she referred to Trump as a “fascist,” a clip that Jennings included in his broadcast.
Harris had also delivered a major campaign speech portraying Trump as a threat to democracy and “unstable.”
Other clips featured MSNBC hosts Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow, as well as legal analyst Elie Mystal.
“For the last ten years, the American left, Democrats and, yes, I’m sorry to say, many people in the media have dedicated themselves to branding Republicans and conservatives as fascists, Nazis,” Jennings said.
“The left normalized this language and the media platformed and endorsed it. The brand was created, the talking points went out as they say, and it is now an article of faith on the American left that if you have voted for Donald Trump or espoused conservative views, you’re a fascist, someone who wants to destroy the Constitution and our country.”
Jennings said that labeling has contributed to a climate where conservative views are dismissed as dangerous.
“Every conservative view is met with, well, that’s hateful. Every conservative view is met with, well, that view is killing people,” he said.
He connected this environment to the assassination of Kirk, noting that authorities discovered Robinson had written messages on ammunition recovered from the scene.
“The killer of Charlie Kirk took the arguments made by Democrats on your televisions every night and wrote them on the bullets,” Jennings said.

The host also pointed to previous security issues involving TPUSA events.
In January 2022, Dartmouth College converted a TPUSA event featuring journalist Andy Ngo and activist Gabriel Nadales into a virtual event after security concerns.
In May 2022, left-leaning students disrupted the first planned tabling event of the TPUSA chapter at Lee’s Summit West High School.
In April 2023, Riley Gaines, who has publicly opposed the participation of biological males in women’s sports, was assaulted at a TPUSA event at San Francisco State University.
Jennings also highlighted the threats and attempts on the life of President Trump.
Trump survived two assassination attempts during the 2024 campaign—one at a July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, and another on September 15 while golfing in Florida.
He previously survived an attempt during his 2016 campaign, when a man from the United Kingdom attempted to seize an officer’s gun at a Las Vegas rally.
Jennings concluded his remarks by asserting that Democrats and their allies in the media have created an atmosphere where political opponents are branded as “fascists” and “Nazis” without regard for consequences.
Federal and state investigators continue to build the case against Robinson, who is in custody facing charges related to Kirk’s assassination.
