Scott Jennings Delivers The Perfect Response To A CNN Panelist Who Claims He’s ‘Thirsty’ For The Senate

During a heated exchange Wednesday on “CNN NewsNight,” Democratic strategist Julie Roginsky claimed Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings was “thirsty” for a Senate seat, prompting Jennings to ask if she was desperate for “relevance.”

Speculation about a possible Senate run by Jennings, who has repeatedly clashed with Democrats and other left-wing guests on CNN, was spurred by his attendance at an April 30 rally held by President Donald Trump in Michigan. Jennings and Roginsky clashed over Trump’s decision to take control of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) to combat crime in the District of Columbia after Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staffer Edward Coristine, known by the moniker “Big Balls,” was severely injured when he intervened to prevent a carjacking. “I guess I’m old enough, Scott, to remember when you were appalled, as the rest of us were, on January 6th, when [Trump] wouldn’t —” Roginsky said before Jennings cut her off, saying, “Because January 6th happened, should we not enforce the law today?”

“Excuse me,” Roginsky said before Jennings asked, “Do you want murders today? Does January 6 equal no enforcement of murder? This is – this is a silly argument.”

An intern for Republican Rep. Ron Estes of Kansas, Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, was fatally shot at a Metro station less than a mile from the White House on June 30. Two employees of the Israeli Embassy were killed in a May shooting allegedly carried out by a pro-Hamas activist while at an event held at the Capital Jewish Museum.

“Let me finish before you make a point about a silly argument,” Roginsky demanded, before Jennings responded, “Well, it’s going to be silly, but go ahead.”

Roginsky then brought up the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol building, claiming it endangered Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, who Jennings previously worked for.

“January 6th was a bad day. Murders are also bad. I want murders solved,” Jennings said as Roginsky repeatedly peppered him with, “Can I finish?”

After “CNN NewsNight” host Abby Phillip told Jennings to let Roginsky have her say, Jennings responded, “Well, if she wants to come out here and take pot shots at me, I’m not going to allow it. It’s a stupid argument and I’m not going to allow it.”

After Phillip told Roginsky to finish her thought, the debate took a personal turn.

“Scott, I know you’re thirsty for that Senate seat, but let me finish. What I’m going to say —” Roginsky said before Jennings erupted at Phillip, “Again, I mean, you allow this every night. You allow it every day.” (RELATED: ‘What Reality Do You Live In?’: Scott Jennings Spars With CNN Panelist Who Dismisses Trump’s Peace Deals)

Phillip and CNN banned conservative commentator Ryan James Girdusky after he joked about left-wing commentator Mehdi Hasan’s pager detonating after Hasan called him a “Nazi” during the Oct. 28, 2024 episode of “CNN NewsNight.”

“Scott, just one second here. Let’s just let her finish, please,” Phillip responded.

“Okay, listen, I know you‘ve got the pick-me thing going on, but here‘s what I‘m going to say —” Roginsky said, before Jennings shot back, “What are you thirsty for? Some kind of relevance out here? I mean, I don‘t even know what you do for a living.”
