Scott Jennings Demolishes Democrat’s Political Stunts Defending Illegal Aliens [WATCH]

The string of incidents began when Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) interrupted a Department of Homeland Security press briefing held by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.

Padilla moved to the front of the room unannounced and disrupted the briefing, prompting confusion over his identity among attendees.

The act drew widespread attention and prompted a response from New York Governor Kathy Hochul, who later announced a $50 million initiative to provide legal services for individuals detained by federal agents outside of court settings.

Vice President J.D. Vance responded to the events by criticizing Padilla’s actions and referring to the overall approach by some Democrats as “theater.”

During his remarks, Vance ‘mistakenly’ referred to Padilla as “Jose Padilla,” a misstatement that Padilla later cited as disrespectful.

Padilla continued to voice his objections days later, maintaining that his actions were justified.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, however, stated that Padilla had not contacted her office to request a meeting prior to the briefing.

Noem did grant him a brief meeting following the confrontation.

CNN contributor Scott Jennings also weighed in on the events, sharply criticizing Democratic lawmakers during a panel discussion.

Jennings, who had just returned from Israel, was asked whether he believed Democrats were genuinely emotional about the issues or engaging in political theater.

“I agree with some of that. I agree they are emotional. And the last part. They do want the public to see,” Jennings said.

“What they’re doing is clearly creating stunts. These are political stunts,” he continued.

“This is sort of like porn for their base. There’s a lot of capital right now in the Democratic Party for getting arrested. In the case of Padilla, who if you handed me $10 million right now if I could pick him out of a line-up, I don’t think I could do it.”

Jennings added that if Padilla had wanted to meet with Noem, he could have scheduled one through formal channels.

He emphasized that Noem confirmed there was no prior request before the interruption.

“But more than anything, the theater kids have taken over. They are desperate to create theater, and that’s all it is,” Jennings said.
