The Department of Defense has launched a new weekly situation report, or “sitrep,” with Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell emphasizing transparency and accountability for both U.S. warfighters and taxpayers.
“Pentagon spokesman, Sean Parnell, here, welcome to our new weekly situation report, or, as we say in the military, sitrep,” Parnell said in the inaugural report.
“The purpose of this is to be the most transparent DoD in American history for our warfighters and the American people.”

Parnell outlined several key developments from the first week, highlighting leadership appointments, policy shifts, and international defense commitments.
President Donald Trump has nominated Lieutenant General Dan R. Kane as the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
In addition, Dan Driscoll, an Army veteran and attorney, was confirmed by the Senate as Secretary of the Army.
“The President nominated Lieutenant General Dan Razin Kane as the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,” Parnell stated.

“The Senate confirmed Army veteran and accomplished attorney Dan Driscoll as the Secretary of the Army. Super psyched about that, and we are very much looking forward to having them both on the team here at the Pentagon.”
Defense Secretary Heig Setth visited Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he previously served as a second lieutenant in 2004. During the visit, he met with U.S. military personnel and inspected the detention facilities.
“He visited our warfighters and inspected the detention facilities where criminal illegal aliens are being held as they await swift deportation,” Parnell reported.
The United Kingdom pledged to increase defense spending, a move Parnell credited to Secretary Setth’s leadership in pushing for stronger European NATO commitments.
“The UK pledged to increase their defense spending, which was a direct response to Secretary Heig Set’s push for European NATO leadership just two weeks ago,” he said.
Parnell also dismissed criticism from the mainstream media that suggested Setth’s remarks on NATO needed to be walked back or would backfire.
“This despite a legacy media narrative that the Secretary’s NATO trip remarks needed to be walked back or would somehow backfire. As usual, the legacy media was wrong,” he stated.
The Department of Defense has officially eliminated all Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) content from its websites and social media platforms, signaling a major shift in policy.
“Our public affairs shop directed all Diversity, Equity and Inclusion content to be removed from websites and social media DoD-wide at the Pentagon,” Parnell announced.
“We reject the divisive and discriminatory notion that diversity is our strength. It’s not. Our shared unity and purpose are our strengths. Under President Trump and Secretary Heig Setth’s leadership, DEI is dead at the DoD.”
During President Trump’s first Cabinet meeting, Secretary Setth vowed to hold the Biden administration accountable for its handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal.
“At President Trump’s first Cabinet meeting, Secretary Heig Setth promised the American people the overdue accountability that they deserve for the Biden administration’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal,” Parnell said.
Parnell concluded the sitrep by thanking viewers and reaffirming the Pentagon’s commitment to transparency.
“Folks, that is all we have for you today. Thank you for watching. God bless you all. God bless America and God bless our troops. See you next time.”
Most importantly to our warfighters, and the American taxpayers….

The new weekly report signals a major shift in how the Pentagon communicates with the public under President Trump’s leadership, with a clear emphasis on military readiness, accountability, and rejecting policies from the previous administration.
