The mothers of three American women who were murdered by illegal immigrants have criticized actress Selena Gomez for a recent video in which she tearfully expressed concern for illegal immigrants facing deportation.
The mothers—Tammy Nobles, Alexis Nungaray, and Patty Morin—questioned the sincerity of Gomez’s emotions, pointing out that she does not “know who” she is shedding tears for.
In a video shared by the White House account on X, the mothers expressed skepticism over Gomez’s video, suggesting that it was more of a performance than a genuine expression of concern.

“Seeing that video, it’s hard to believe it’s actually genuine and real because she’s an actress,” said Alexis Nungaray.
Nungaray’s daughter, 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered in June 2024 by two illegal immigrants from Venezuela.
Texas prosecutors are currently seeking the death penalty for the accused.
Tammy Nobles, whose daughter, 20-year-old Kayla Hamilton, was raped and murdered in Aberdeen, Maryland, in July 2022, also criticized Gomez’s message.
Hamilton’s killer, Walter Javier Martinez, an illegal alien and known MS-13 gang member, was sentenced to 70 years in prison in August 2024.
“What about our children who were brutally murdered and raped and beat to death?” Nobles asked in the video. “You don’t know who you’re crying for.”
Patty Morin, whose 37-year-old daughter, Rachel Morin, was murdered in August 2023, echoed similar frustrations.
Morin was last seen on August 5, 2023, when she went for a walk on the Ma & Pa Heritage Trail in Bel Air, Maryland.
After failing to return home, her boyfriend reported her missing. The following day, her body was found near the trail.
The suspect, Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez, an alleged illegal immigrant and MS-13 gang member, was indicted in July 2024 on charges of first- and second-degree murder, rape, sexual offenses, and kidnapping.
“I just feel like it’s a ruse to deceive people and to garner sympathy for lawlessness,” Morin said.
She emphasized that the mothers of the victims have been left to grieve alone. “No one has stood up except for us mothers to cry out about our children.”
The mothers also expressed support for former President Donald Trump’s stance on illegal immigration, stating that he is “taking accountability” and “making moves” to address the issue.
They commended Trump for what they described as a genuine concern for the safety of American citizens.
The backlash against Gomez comes after she released a video lamenting the treatment of illegal immigrants. In the clip, the actress said, “All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”
