Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) criticized his own party following President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress, warning that Democrats’ conduct was backfiring and making Trump appear more presidential.
“A sad cavalcade of self-owns and unhinged petulance. It only makes Trump look more presidential and restrained. We’re becoming the metaphorical car alarms that nobody pays attention to—and it may not be the winning message,” Fetterman posted on X.

Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’
During Trump’s speech, some Democratic lawmakers held up signs with messages such as “FALSE,” “SAVE MEDICAID,” “PROTECT VETERANS,” and “MUSK STEALS.”
The disruptions escalated when Rep. Al Green (D-TX) was removed from the chamber for being disorderly.
Some Democrats refused to attend the address altogether, while others walked out during the speech.
Trump responded to the behavior on Wednesday, calling it a political liability for Democrats.
“The Democrats should lose the Midterms based on their behavior at last night’s Joint Address to Congress,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Trump also urged Republicans to use the footage of the event as campaign material.
“Republicans should utilize the footage provided on the total disrespect they showed to all of those that were honored that night, including young ladies who were killed by illegal migrants, people with terminal cancer, etc. They didn’t even have the common courtesy to stand, smile, or applaud. This could be, on analyzing the full tape of this Historic Event, your full CAMPAIGN TO VICTORY! In other words, Republicans can take what happened last night, and win any Race in the Country,” Trump wrote.

Fetterman, who has been an outspoken supporter of Israel, also agreed with Trump’s warning to Hamas, in which the president gave the terrorist group an ultimatum regarding hostages.
“You can choose. Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you,” Trump stated on X.
“I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don’t do as I say.”
Trump added, “This is your last warning! For the leadership, now is the time to leave Gaza, while you still have a chance. Also, to the People of Gaza: A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are DEAD! Make a SMART decision. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER!”
“‘Shalom Hamas’ means Hello and Goodbye – You can choose. Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you. Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted! I am… pic.twitter.com/88EjVAyWAe

An agreement between Hamas and Israel has led to negotiations on a potential second phase of the hostage deal.
The Associated Press reported that the proposed terms include Hamas releasing additional hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, a permanent ceasefire, and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.
Hamas spokesperson Abdel-Latif Al-Qanoua stated that negotiations were “the best path to free the remaining Israeli hostages,” according to the AP.
