Actor Zachary Levi has urged Hollywood’s “closeted conservatives” to step out and openly express their views following his recent endorsement of former President Donald Trump.
Levi, known for his role in the superhero film Shazam!, made these comments during an Instagram Live video on Sunday, in which he addressed political dynamics within the entertainment industry.
Levi’s statements were in response to comments made by The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who recently described Hollywood as a “right-leaning town.”

Goldberg claimed that there are “very few people who seem to bite it because they’re Republican,” naming actors Jon Voight and Dennis Quaid as examples of conservative figures in Hollywood.
Levi disagreed with Goldberg’s assessment, pointing out that her examples were limited. “She was only able to name Jon Voight and Dennis Quaid,” Levi said, emphasizing that, out of the thousands working in Hollywood, only a few openly identify as Republicans.
He suggested that actors typically come out as conservative only “at a certain level of your career to get away with it.”
He went on to say that there are many people in Hollywood who share conservative values but are afraid to speak up publicly. “There’s plenty — and by the way, they have sent me lots of messages — plenty of people in my industry in Hollywood that are terrified to publicly say that they would vote for Donald Trump or be conservative in any way,” Levi stated. “That’s why you don’t see them. That’s why they’re not very prevalent or prominent because they know that there’s ramifications for this kind of s—.”
Levi argued that the fear of backlash in Hollywood is diminishing, citing the effects of the pandemic lockdowns and the recent writers’ and actors’ strikes.
He predicted that the industry, as it currently operates, is on the verge of collapse. “That’s been eroded after lockdowns and the strikes, and it will soon be f— gonzo,” he said.
Encouraging fellow conservatives in Hollywood, Levi issued a call to action. “My cry to all of you out there, you closeted conservatives, closeted Trump voters, y’all, it’s now or never,” he said. “Do whatever you feel like you need to do. If you need to come out publicly and say it, if you feel like you still can’t, then don’t. I would never pressure you to do that, but know that if what you’re afraid of is somehow the backlash of an industry that’s not going to exist very soon, then don’t let that hold you back.”
You, @ZacharyLevi are an American!
Just because you make your living as an actor doesn’t mean your rights are diminished or taken from you.You have your guaranteed First Amendment rights to Free Speech, you can vote for the 1 party (of the only 2 political parties we get), that… https://t.co/efskkTopVf

You have your guaranteed First Amendment rights to Free Speech, you can vote for the 1 party (of the only 2 political parties we get), that you want.
The fact that you and so many other Hollywood actors fear going public about voting your conscience, is because of the intolerance, spitefulness and hate of the Liberal tyrants that control Hollywood and their billionaire sycophants that control Big Tech and Main Stream media and 70% of the wealth of the United States!
Now that this fake Woke Liberalism, which is just Marxism dressed us as nice manners, show business has been ruined: They killed the golden goose with movies that are just for their own political echo chamber and with strike after strike. Audiences are sick of being preached at and told they are racist and transphobic and deplorable, so they no longer watch those nauseating movies, TV shows or the shaming liberal sermon that used to be the Academy Awards.
Yes, Zachary is right: Every American actor must stand up against this new Black List Hollywood 1950’s bullshit and USE YOUR FREE SPEECH, VOTE YOUR CONSCIENCE AND VOTE OUT THIS TOTALITARIAN DEMOCRAT MACHINE!
BECAUSE AMERICANS MAY NOT GET A SECOND ACT.
Please VOTE #trumpvancekennedygabbard2024
With love,
God bless America,
Rob Schneider
Levi’s endorsement of Trump came during an event for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard in September. Initially supporting RFK Jr., Levi explained how he shifted his support to Trump after Kennedy suspended his campaign.
“In a perfect world, in whatever that would look like, perhaps I would have voted for Bobby,” Levi said. “But we don’t live in a perfect world. In fact, we live in a very broken one. We live in a country that has been hijacked by a lot of people who want to take this place way off the cliff, and we’re here to stop that.”
Levi expressed his belief that Trump is the candidate who can restore the country, stating, “We are going to take back this country. We are going to make it great again, we’re going to make it healthy again. And so I stand with Bobby and I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump… Of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, President Trump is the man that can get us there.”
Levi’s comments have drawn attention due to the ongoing debate about political diversity in Hollywood, a traditionally liberal stronghold, and the repercussions faced by those in the entertainment industry who openly support conservative candidates.
