The person who was shot and killed after opening fire at Old Dominion University on Thursday was identified as Mohamed Jalloh, a former National Guardsman who was convicted of supporting the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria in 2017, multiple media outlets reported.
Jalloh met with a member of ISIS and an FBI informant in 2016, later telling them of his desire to carry out an attack similar to the one carried out on Fort Hood by Nidal Hasan, according to a July 2016 Justice Department press release.
