“Saturday Night Live” cast member Chloe Fineman is facing criticism following comments she made in a Vanity Fair video about an incident from her teenage years while working as a camp counselor, as reported by Fox News.

The video, titled “‘SNL’ Cast Test How Well They Know Each Other,” featured Fineman alongside co-stars Mikey Day, Sarah Sherman, Ashley Padilla, Jane Wickline, and James Austin Johnson.

During the segment, Fineman asked her fellow cast members to guess which job she had been fired from and later rehired for.

“Saturday Night Live” star Chloe Fineman is facing backlash over a story she shared in a Vanity Fair video about pantsing a 6-year-old boy while working at a summer camp as a teenager.

Fineman then described an incident that occurred when she was 16 years old and working as a camp counselor.

“I was fired as a camp counselor. I pantsed a boy. He would lift my shirt all the time. It was a different time. He would be like, ‘Hey, could I have a hug?’ And then I’d go to hug him, and he’d lift my shirt, like a d—.”

She continued by explaining how she responded to the behavior. “And then I was like, ‘I’m going to get back at you.’

And so we were on a hike, and I was like, ‘Hey, Ollie, go look over there. It’s a hawk.’ He looked, and then I yanked his pants down, and then I was fired,” she said.

According to Variety, the video was later edited after backlash emerged online.

The publication reported that the original version included additional details, including the age of the boy and a description of what occurred after his pants were pulled down.

“He wasn’t wearing underpants, and then a giant school bus drove by,” Fineman said in the original version of the video, according to Variety.

Variety also reported that reaction shots of Fineman’s co-stars, which showed visible shock during her story, were removed in the edited version of the video.

The revised clip no longer includes references to the boy’s age or certain details that were present in the initial upload.

The video, which was posted to YouTube, prompted a number of comments from viewers responding to Fineman’s remarks. Some users criticized both the story itself and how it was presented.

“Omg the editor forgot to cut Chloe’s segment,” one user wrote. Another commented, “Chloe doing her funny voice while she describes exposing a child’s genitals was quite upsetting.”

Additional comments included, “Chloe needs to not share so much. Lol,” and “Never knew Chloe did so much crime.”

Vanity Fair did not respond to a request for comment regarding the edits or the backlash surrounding the video.

The segment was part of a broader promotional video featuring members of the “Saturday Night Live” cast discussing personal anecdotes while testing their knowledge of one another.

The controversy surrounding Fineman’s remarks has since drawn attention to both the content of the story and the decision to edit portions of the video after its release.
