Snoop Dogg, never one to shy away from controversy, has once again stirred the pot after performing at a pre-inauguration event honoring President Donald Trump.
As reported by The Daily Mail, the 53-year-old rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr., recently took to Instagram to address the wave of criticism aimed at him for appearing at the “Inaugural Crypto Ball,” a January 17 event attended by cryptocurrency executives.
In the Instagram video posted Sunday, Snoop appeared parked behind the wheel, smoking what looked like a blunt. His message to the haters? “For all the hate, I’m going to answer with love,” he said, exhaling smoke with an air of defiance.

Without directly naming Trump or the event, Snoop brushed off the criticism, saying:
“Get your life right, stop worrying about mine. I’m cool. I’m together. Still a Black man. Still 100 percent Black. All out ’til you ball out or ’til you fall out.”
Despite the rapper’s laid-back response, fans and critics alike have not held back on social media. Photos of Snoop mingling with MAGA figures during the event sparked outrage among his supporters.

The backlash was swift, with users on X (formerly Twitter) accusing him of hypocrisy.
“Even Snoop Dogg bent the knee to Donald Trump. Never thought I’d see the day,” one user wrote.
Another lamented, “I’ve deleted all Snoop Dogg songs from my playlists. I will not support a traitor.”
Interestingly, this performance marks a sharp pivot for Snoop, who was once a vocal critic of Trump. Back in 2018, he made headlines for calling Trump supporters “racists” during an interview on SiriusXM’s DJ Suss One show.
At the time, he lashed out, saying, “If you like that [expletive], you’re a racist. F*** you, and f*** him.” His tirade didn’t end there, as he also took aim at Kanye West, accusing him of aligning with Trump for attention and profit.

But Snoop isn’t letting the backlash slow him down. Speaking on the R&B Money podcast the day before his Instagram post, he reflected on the criticism, saying:
“You’re gonna deal with hate when you get to the top, no matter who you are. Me, personally, I answer it with success and love. That’s my answer to any hate and negativity that comes my way, ’cause it’s the strongest force that can beat it.”
Critics argue that Snoop’s willingness to perform at the pro-Trump event is proof of his shifting priorities. Meanwhile, others view his decision as a savvy business move, given the tech-heavy crowd in attendance.
Trump, widely supported by cryptocurrency and AI executives, continues to draw unlikely alliances, even as these industries face financial turmoil, with billions wiped out in recent market crashes.
While Snoop has not explicitly endorsed Trump, his appearance at the event, combined with his past anti-Trump rhetoric, has left many questioning his motives. Whether driven by financial gain or a genuine change of heart, one thing is clear: Snoop is playing by his own rules, and he’s not apologizing for it.
