Authorities stated that Johnson was “traveling to Austin while continuing to make threatening statements.”
Rogan, who told police he had never interacted with Johnson, described the posts as “threatening.” Based on Rogan’s response and the department’s investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant.
Johnson was arrested without incident. Jail records from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office show that he was charged with one count of making a terroristic threat causing fear of imminent serious bodily injury, a Class B misdemeanor.
He was released Wednesday on a $20,000 bond.
Several videos posted by Johnson before his arrest featured him directly addressing Rogan and threatening to fight him.
In one clip, Johnson—shirtless and wearing a wolf pelt—danced with two gold guns and said, “Joe Rogan, I’m calling you out. I’m picking a fight with you.”
In another, he stated, “I’m willing to die.”

In yet another video, Johnson filed his nails while saying he didn’t want to “scratch” Rogan if they fought, and asked his staff to deliver a box with Rogan’s face on it to Rogan’s comedy club, the Comedy Mothership.
He said the box contained DVDs from the “John Wick” movie series. In the same video, Johnson warned his family that he would “lose his man privileges” and changed the family’s Wi-Fi password to “F**k you Joe Rogan.”
In a separate video, Johnson was seen in a shower administering a coffee enema while denying that he threatened to kill anyone.
Johnson rose to fame promoting an “ancestral lifestyle” that included eating raw animal organs and avoiding modern comforts.
He had previously denied using steroids, but in December 2022, he admitted to taking roughly $11,000 per month in performance-enhancing drugs following leaked emails from a physician.
Rogan publicly criticized Johnson during a December 2022 episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, saying, “There’s no way you can look like that in your 40s.” Rogan called Johnson’s story a “con game” and accused him of lying to his followers.
Johnson’s efforts to connect with Rogan reportedly included attending his comedy shows and UFC events, as well as reaching out to Rogan’s friends.
In May 2025, Netflix released a documentary titled Untold: The Liver King, detailing Johnson’s rise to online fame and subsequent controversies.
The Austin Police Department said the investigation remains ongoing.
