Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’
Over the weekend, the Trump administration invoked the Alien Enemies Act to deport nearly 300 illegal alien gang members associated with Tren de Aragua (TdA) and MS-13, both of which have been designated terrorist organizations.
The deportations were conducted under an agreement with El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, allowing the U.S. to send foreign gang members to El Salvador, where they would be held in a high-security mega-prison for an annual fee.
Shortly after Trump implemented the policy, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Democracy Forward filed a lawsuit aiming to block the administration from carrying out further deportations.
The lawsuit involves five illegal aliens who are currently in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody, claiming that the Trump administration violated their rights by attempting to deport them under the Alien Enemies Act.

A federal judge later issued an order halting further deportations, but by the time the ruling was handed down, the administration had already completed the flights.
Democracy Forward, the legal firm assisting the ACLU in representing the plaintiffs, has direct financial ties to the Soros network and has received funding through various left-wing organizations.
Democracy Forward’s clients and partners include:
- Center for American Progress
- National Immigration Law Center
- Color of Change
- UnidosUS
- Common Justice
- Catholic Legal Immigration Network
Each of these organizations has been financially supported by the Open Society Foundation, the powerful network chaired by George Soros and now run by Alexander Soros.
In 2023, the Open Society Foundation awarded Color of Change a $3 million grant, after previously donating $1.5 million to the group in 2018 and 2019.
The Center for American Progress, a group widely considered the Democrat Party’s policy wing, received nearly $4 million in grants from Soros-backed funds in 2023 alone.
The National Immigration Law Center, UnidosUS, Common Justice, and the Catholic Legal Immigration Network have all received millions in funding from the Open Society Foundation in recent years.
Following the court ruling, Democracy Forward and the ACLU have requested that a federal judge investigate whether the Trump administration defied the order by proceeding with deportation flights.
However, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed the claims, stating that the flights had already landed before the ruling was issued.
“The written order and the administration’s actions do not conflict,” Leavitt said in a statement.
She also emphasized that President Trump’s actions fall under his constitutional authority and are not subject to interference by a single federal judge.
“As the Supreme Court has repeatedly made clear — federal courts generally have no jurisdiction over the President’s conduct of foreign affairs, his authorities under the Alien Enemies Act, and his core Article II powers to remove foreign alien terrorists from U.S. soil and repel a declared invasion,” Leavitt continued.
“A single judge in a single city cannot direct the movements of an aircraft carrying foreign alien terrorists who were physically expelled from U.S. soil.“
The Administration did not ‘refuse to comply’ with a court order. The order, which had no lawful basis, was issued after terrorist TdA aliens had already been removed from U.S. territory. With the legal battle intensifying, the Trump administration remains firm in its commitment to removing illegal alien gang members under the Alien Enemies Act, despite ongoing challenges from Soros-backed legal groups and activist organizations.
