Dean Cain, known for portraying Superman in the 1990s television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, announced on Tuesday that he has officially joined Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). His announcement comes as the Trump administration rolls out a new recruitment effort to strengthen immigration enforcement operations across the country.
In a video posted to X and Instagram, the 59-year-old actor and filmmaker stated, “Hey everybody, Dean Cain here. For those who don’t know, I am a sworn law enforcement officer, as well as being a filmmaker, and I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it. So I joined up.”
Cain’s announcement coincided with a national recruitment campaign launched by President Donald Trump’s administration to bolster ICE staffing.

The campaign was unveiled on July 29 by Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, who emphasized the urgency of reinforcing the agency’s mission.
“Your country is calling you to serve at ICE,” Noem said in a press release.
“Your country needs dedicated men and women of ICE to get the worst of the worst criminals out of our country. This is a defining moment in our nation’s history. Your skills, your experience, and your courage have never been more essential. Together, we must defend the homeland.”

The campaign offers an incentive package aimed at attracting recruits, including a $50,000 signing bonus and retirement benefits.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, the program is designed to fast-track qualified applicants to help meet the administration’s enforcement priorities.
In his announcement video, Cain praised ICE’s work under President Trump’s leadership.
“Since President Trump took office, ICE has arrested hundreds of thousands of criminals including terrorists, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, MS-13 gang members, drug traffickers, you name it—very dangerous people who are no longer on the streets,” he said.
Cain encouraged others to consider joining ICE, highlighting the benefits and the urgency of the mission.
“If you want to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and removing them from America’s streets,” Cain said.
“I like that. I voted for that.”

The actor’s participation in the program has drawn some criticism from commentators who questioned whether he meets the agency’s age requirements for new recruits.
Cain, who turned 59 this year, did not address that issue directly in his video.
You spoke, we listened and we took action – the age cap for joining ICE has now been REMOVED.

Cain is not new to law enforcement.
In previous interviews, he has identified as a sworn reserve police officer, and he has publicly supported law enforcement initiatives.
In addition to his acting career, he hosted Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and has produced various film and television projects.
The ICE recruitment campaign launched by the Trump administration is part of a broader effort to tighten border security and accelerate the deportation of illegal aliens with criminal records.
The program is also expected to expand partnerships with local law enforcement agencies and provide expedited hiring processes to meet operational needs.
As the campaign gains national attention, Cain’s public support and participation appear aimed at encouraging citizens to take active roles in supporting immigration enforcement.
