Sydney Sweeney Turns Heads in Revealing Sheer Dress at Variety’s Power of Women Event [WATCH]

Actress Sydney Sweeney made headlines Wednesday night for her bold appearance at Variety’s 2025 Power of Women event in Los Angeles, where she delivered an emotional speech about being “underestimated” in Hollywood, as reported by Page Six.

The 28-year-old star of Euphoria and The White Lotus arrived on the red carpet wearing a floor-length, silver sheer gown designed by Christian Cowan.

The form-fitting dress, detailed with crystal embellishments and a lace-up back, was paired with diamond earrings. Her new short blond bob was on full display as she posed for photographers at the high-profile event.

During the ceremony, Sweeney addressed the audience with a speech reflecting on her experiences in the entertainment industry. “I know what it feels like … to have people define you before you’ve had a chance to define yourself,” she said.

“I know what it feels like to have to prove that you deserve to be here, to be seen, to be taken seriously.”

She continued, “Every one of us has our own fight. Strength doesn’t look loud sometimes, and sometimes it’s about getting up again and again, no matter who is watching.”

Sweeney concluded her remarks by encouraging young women to embrace confidence and persistence. “Don’t shrink yourself,” she said. “Your power is already within.”

The Emmy-nominated actress later shared her full remarks on Instagram, dedicating the speech to retired boxer Christy Martin, whom she portrays in the upcoming biopic Christy, as well as “all the women who inspire us in big and small ways.”

Ahead of the event, Sweeney sat down with Variety for a wide-ranging interview published Monday, where she addressed recurring online speculation about her appearance.

“I’ve never gotten anything done,” Sweeney told the outlet. “I’m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing.”

Sweeney said that her changing look over the years is simply a result of growing up and working in the entertainment industry. “I’m like, ‘I’m 12 in that photo. Of course I’m going to look different. I have makeup on now and I’m 15 years older,’” she said.

She also told Variety she intends to “age gracefully” and dismissed viral comparison photos circulating on social media.
