Actor Sylvester Stallone publicly praised President-elect Donald Trump during a speech at Mar-a-Lago, likening him to “the second George Washington” while celebrating Trump’s election victory.
Speaking to an audience of supporters at the event, the “Rocky” star described Trump as a “mythical character” and expressed admiration for the president-elect’s accomplishment.
“We are in the presence of a really mythical character. I love mythology,” Stallone told the audience. “This individual does not exist on this planet. Nobody in the world could have pulled off what he pulled off.” He went on to compare Trump’s triumph to George Washington’s role in shaping America’s history.

“When George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world, ’cause without him, you could imagine what the world would look like,” Stallone said, drawing parallels between Washington’s leadership and Trump’s political achievements.
The actor concluded his remarks by declaring Trump “the second George Washington.”

Stallone’s speech at Mar-a-Lago marked one of his few public forays into politics during the 2024 election cycle.
While he largely stayed out of the political spotlight, Stallone showed signs of leaning toward conservative values in recent years, including his decision to relocate to Florida.
The actor has also discussed personal topics that align with pro-life views.
During an appearance on his daughters’ “Unwaxed” podcast to promote the documentary SLY, Stallone shared a story about how his mother almost decided not to have him.
The documentary, which explores Stallone’s life and career, touches on his challenging upbringing but omits some of the more difficult moments.
Stallone revealed that his mother once told him, “The only reason you’re here is because the hanger didn’t work,” referencing at-home abortion attempts.
He described how she also made comments about wanting to open a window to let him freeze to death if there were signs of a disability.
The actor admitted these comments shaped his childhood and contributed to an environment where, as he described it, “everybody was extremely unhappy with who they were.”

When Stallone’s daughters reacted to the story on their podcast, one of them asked if these experiences made him feel unwanted.
Stallone acknowledged the difficulty of his childhood but explained that he chose not to include this part of his life in the SLY documentary, stating, “It would be too much for the audience.”
Despite the challenges he faced growing up, Stallone has continued to rise as a cultural icon, both for his action-packed roles and his public persona.
His Mar-a-Lago speech and recent remarks provide further insight into the actor’s admiration for strong leadership and his personal resilience.
