Taylor Lorenz, a journalist infamous for her far-left activism and controversial social media presence, is facing renewed scrutiny. This time, her connection to Luigi Mangione, the man arrested for allegedly assassinating UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is sparking outrage.
As reported by The Gateway Pundit, Thompson, 50, was fatally shot outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown Manhattan last Wednesday. Police quickly identified the attack as targeted, given the disturbing evidence uncovered during their investigation.
Mangione, a former Ivy League student, was arrested on Monday after a nationwide manhunt. Authorities reportedly found a handgun fitted with a silencer, forged IDs, and a handwritten manifesto detailing his grievances against the healthcare industry.

Adding to the controversy, Lorenz reportedly followed Mangione on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

While no additional details about their relationship have been disclosed, Lorenz’s public reaction to Thompson’s murder has only fueled the backlash.
Writing on Bluesky, she appeared to defend the heinous act, stating, “And people wonder why we want these executives dead,” citing a report about an insurance provider’s decision to stop covering anesthesia costs.

This shocking statement has drawn sharp criticism from many who accuse Lorenz of glorifying violence against individuals in the healthcare industry. Conservatives have slammed her remarks as a prime example of the toxic rhetoric emanating from far-left ideologues.

Adding insult to injury for Lorenz, Vox Media has reportedly decided not to renew its partnership to distribute her podcast and YouTube show.
According to Semafor, the short-term deal with Lorenz is set to expire at the start of the year. Earlier this year, Axios had celebrated the partnership as a significant win for Vox Media. However, the relationship seems to have soured, with Vox allegedly making the decision before Thompson’s murder.
