Taylor Swift has reportedly lost 144,200 Instagram followers following her appearance at Super Bowl LIX earlier this month in New Orleans, where she was booed by the crowd.
According to SportsMillions, Swift’s drop in followers comes as she distances herself from the legal controversy involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
Meanwhile, her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, has gained 12,370 followers since the team’s Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9.

The couple’s social media statistics were analyzed using Social Blade, an online analytics tool, as reported by the New York Post.
Despite the dip in her follower count, Swift still maintains a massive presence on Instagram with 282 million followers, while Kelce now has 6.7 million.
Swift was among the high-profile celebrities attending the Super Bowl at Caesar’s Superdome, alongside Bradley Cooper, Ice Spice, Paul Rudd, Miles Teller, and Pete Davidson.
During the game, she appeared on the stadium’s jumbotron while sitting in a VIP suite. As her image was displayed, audible boos echoed through the stadium.

Her reaction quickly went viral online, with Swift initially looking surprised before giving a side-eye and briefly addressing a friend.
Lipreader Nicola Hickling told DailyMail.com that Swift appeared to say, “aww what, what’s going on.”
Former President Donald Trump, who was also in attendance at the game, later commented on the incident. Posting on Truth Social, he wrote, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”

A source close to Kelce told DailyMail.com that he was aware of Swift getting booed and felt “helpless” during the moment.
“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him,” the source said.
“He always protects her, and it broke his heart. He was already having a tough night, and the fact that the stadium was predominantly Eagles fans didn’t help. Travis knows that this hurt her, and anyone can see this.”
The insider also suggested that some Eagles fans may have viewed Swift as a “traitor” since she is originally from Pennsylvania and had previously worn Eagles gear before dating Kelce.
“Travis believes that it was unnecessary for Trump to take a dig at her, especially after he voiced that he was honored for a president to be there,” the source added.

Following the Super Bowl, celebrities came to Swift’s defense on social media. Tennis legend Serena Williams, who made a surprise appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show, posted on X, “I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!”

Reports also indicate that Swift and Kelce plan to take a break from the public spotlight after the eventful Super Bowl weekend.
A source told People that “their lives have been a whirlwind since they first started dating” and that “things seem great between them, and they’re incredibly happy together.”
Fans have called for Swift to headline a future Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, an insider told DailyMail.com that she does not want to perform at the event until Kelce retires.
“She doesn’t want to do it now until Travis is fully retired as she would like to be at the game supporting him rather than performing at it,” the source stated.
Swift has never headlined the Halftime Show, in part due to its former sponsorship by Pepsi, as she has a longstanding partnership with Coca-Cola.
“If Pepsi wasn’t the sponsor of the Halftime Show for so many years, then Taylor Swift would have potentially already been the performer,” the insider revealed.
The NFL is expected to finalize its choice for the next Halftime Show performer this summer, with an official announcement likely before the start of the next season or by Thanksgiving.
While Swift is not currently in talks, sources say she remains a strong contender for the future.
“The NFL knows they would be stupid if they didn’t at least entertain the fact that she should do it,” the insider said.
