A Texas man wasn’t about to let an armed thug get the best of him—even after taking a bullet.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, a confrontation outside a Corpus Christi nightclub turned into a life-or-death struggle when a robber attempted to steal from a man in the parking lot.

But instead of becoming just another victim of violent crime, the wounded man fought back and disarmed his attacker.

Dennis Quaid’s #1 Warning for Americans

According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, officers responded to an aggravated robbery call in the 5400 block of South Staples Street, right outside the Gemini Nightclub, as reported by The Blaze.

Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where doctors determined his injuries were non-life-threatening.

Investigators revealed that the victim had been targeted after leaving the nightclub. The armed assailant attempted to rob him, but the situation quickly escalated into a physical altercation.

During the struggle, the criminal shot the victim, yet the wounded man still managed to overpower the thug and strip him of his weapon. Before authorities arrived, the suspect fled the scene.

Corpus Christi police didn’t let the suspect remain on the run for long. Their violent crimes unit identified the attacker as 22-year-old Aaron Armendarez. Officers tracked him down and arrested him, charging him with aggravated robbery before booking him into the city detention center.

Given the nature of the crime and the growing concerns over public safety, many are hoping the justice system doesn’t go soft on him. Texans value their right to self-defense, and cases like this prove why law-abiding citizens must remain vigilant.

Criminals like Armendarez are getting bolder, but as this case shows, victims are fighting back.

Residents of Corpus Christi are fed up with the rising crime, and the online reactions reflect that frustration. Social media users sounded off on KRIS-TV’s Facebook post about the incident, with many pointing to a moral decline among young criminals.

One commenter lamented, “What is going on with these people? You can’t even go out in peace anymore… these kids need Jesus in their life.”

Another echoed the sentiment, saying, “I wish our youths would straighten up. We need to pray for all these kids.”

Others weren’t as forgiving, with one user writing, “Hopefully he gets a lengthy sentence.”

The incident highlights a troubling trend—brazen criminals believing they can terrorize innocent people without consequences. Fortunately, this victim refused to be another statistic. While he suffered injuries, his actions ensured his attacker was brought to justice.

Texans won’t tolerate lawlessness, and they certainly won’t wait around for authorities to act when their lives are on the line. In a state where self-defense is a way of life, criminals might want to reconsider their career choices before they find themselves on the losing end of a fight they started.
