A suspected Tesla vandal in Texas found out the hard way that the Cybertruck isn’t just some fancy Silicon Valley gimmick—it fights back.

As The Western Journal reported, Texarkana police arrested 33-year-old Demarqeyun Cox on Tuesday after a bizarre string of incidents where he allegedly used a mini four-wheeler to ram parked Teslas around town. Let’s just say, he picked the wrong cars to mess with.

Tesla’s only store in Vermont opened on Shelburne Road in South Burlington, as seen on April 10, 2024.

Viral video footage posted to X shows Cox gunning his tiny four-wheeler and slamming full-force into a parked Tesla Cybertruck. The result? Not much damage to the truck—but Cox was launched from his seat like a ragdoll.

Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’

It turns out the Cybertruck’s bulletproof, 1.8mm stainless-steel doors aren’t just for show. As X user Sawyer Merrit quipped:

“Little did he know that the Cybertruck has 1.8mm bulletproof stainless-steel doors capable of taking some heavy hits.”

According to the Texarkana Police Department, the first incident took place outside the Golden Palace restaurant on Summerhill Road, where Tesla surveillance cameras recorded Cox intentionally plowing into the vehicle. But Cox’s reckless ride wasn’t done yet.

Electric vehicle owners connect to a Tesla charging station at the Target in Simi Valley on Monday, Feb. 5, 2024.

Before officers could locate him, a second report came in—another Tesla damaged in a Lowe’s parking lot. Officer Blake Lummus then spotted Cox cruising around town on the same mini four-wheeler and stopped him for questioning.

Cox, in a move straight from the “World’s Dumbest Criminals” playbook, gave police a fake name. That didn’t fly for long—officers quickly identified him and took him into custody. Even after his arrest, the Tesla carnage kept unfolding.

Not long after he was booked, police received yet another report of a vandalized Tesla—this time at Genesis Prime Care on College Drive. So far, Cox faces charges for one count of felony criminal mischief and failure to identify.

However, authorities are still investigating whether he’s tied to the other two attacks. If he is, more charges will likely follow.

Elon Musk, X and Tesla, CEO, left, gives a thumbs up to a reporters question, sitting next to Alex Karp, Palantir on Sept. 13, 2023 in Washington DC.

As of now, Cox is sitting in the Bi-State Jail while officers piece together the full scope of his Tesla-smashing joyride.

In an era where leftist DAs often let criminals walk, it’s at least refreshing to see a common-sense police department taking crime seriously—especially when the crook ends up getting a lesson in physics from Elon Musk’s metallic beast.
