The Left’s Piling On Continues; They Want Fetterman GONE

At one level, you have to hand it to the Left. When they decide to destroy somebody, they are shameless.

By now, you have likely read a couple of pieces here and elsewhere about how John Fetterman, who during the 2022 campaign was clearly in mental distress then, was perfectly fine. But now that he isn’t toeing the lefty line in all things, he is suddenly mentally deranged and needs to be booted from the US Senate. 

But it is not this shameless bit of propaganda of which I speak. Rather, it is the open coordination of the Pravda Media with the left. 

Everyone knows what you are doing.

It’s unsurprising to see that leftists are pulling a David Hogg on Fetterman, and to be fair, conservatives often do something similar when we get angry at RINOs–although we tend to focus our criticisms on their ideological deviance rather than their character (although you may recall that the 2024 primary campaign was unusually nasty and personal).

So I am neither shocked that lefties are going after Fetterman. Amused that they did a full 180 on his mental capacities, insisting that the mostly recovered Fetterman is much worse now than right after he had a stroke or during his time in a mood disorders clinic. As far as I can tell, the evidence that Fetterman is unhinged is behavior that describes a day in Amy Klobuchar’s office. Remember The New York Times’ exposé of how Klobuchar treated her staff badly?

The accusations against Fetterman by a disgruntled, Israel-hating staff member don’t come close. 

When Fetterman was a vital Democratic vote in a purple state with no replacement waiting in the wings, the media really did go to the mat to defend him.

The Democrats are coordinating with lots of media outlets to trash Fetterman–they went after Klobuchar because connected people wanted to trash her presidential prospects, not get rid of her–because they want him either gone entirely or, at the very least, pushed back into ideological line. 

The new hotness is that Fetterman is losing popularity in his state–big surprise, given the full-blown campaign to achieve this goal by Democrats–and is a drag on Democrats in PA. 

John Fetterman’s popularity is sinking among Democratic voters in his backyard, according to an internal poll obtained by POLITICO — one of the first major indications that the Pennsylvania senator is taking a hit with the very voters who elected him.

The poll is likely to take on new relevance as Democrats in Pennsylvania increasingly talk behind the scenes about the prospect of a primary challenge against Fetterman in 2028.

Fetterman, who lives just outside Pittsburgh, is underwater with likely Democratic voters in the city. Forty-nine percent said they have an unfavorable impression of him, while 46 percent said they have a favorable impression, according to the survey. By way of comparison, the poll showed 82 percent view Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro favorably, versus 13 percent unfavorably.

The poll, completed by a Democratic firm surveying the upcoming mayoral primary election in Pittsburgh, was conducted before New York magazine published an article reporting that staff are concerned about Fetterman’s mental and physical health.

It’s mostly about this, of course. Israel hatred is now the party line.

The Pravda Media is absolutely shameless about pushing out whatever line the Democrats in power want in the news. Whether it is falsely claiming–for years–that Trump called White Supremacists “fine people” or defending Fetterman when he was running and trashing him when he went off the reservation, the media will say what they are told to. 

By this, I don’t mean there is a memo that goes out saying “this is what you will repeat,” although that does happen in the form of talking points often enough, but the slightly more subtle planting of a story in one outlet, then encouraging its repetition.

It’s shamelessly transparent, but it works with a big slice of the population. A totally bogus issue suddenly becomes the biggest issue of the day through sheer repetition of the same talking points. 

Why media consumers tolerate or even embrace this is beyond me. It’s like they want to be told what to think.

“I am well informed because I follow the news!” The fact that the “news” is nothing but talking points provided by insiders is irrelevant. 

I guess it is easier to be assigned an opinion rather than coming to your own conclusions.
