The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll Brennan and Mr John Hyde

Hmmm.

I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this yet, but it seems to me that the transformative power of cold sweats has worked some sort of reverse magic on former CIA Director John Brennan’s purposefully menacing and irascible personality.

For all the years Brennan has been in the public eye, he’s been a pompous, arrogant ass, ever more so as he gained prominence.

Even when he wasn’t physically on camera, Brennan’s quotes and tweets were read, and one could easily imagine that cranky, bilious face saying every word.

     

Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to the threshold of ‘high crimes & misdemeanors.’ It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???

I mean, that tweet in particular is quite a giggle now, isn’t it?

Busy breaking ‘Russia news.’ 

Chuck Todd couldn’t wait to trot Brennan out for more Russia Russia Russia news, and Brennan couldn’t wait to spill the beans with all the gravitas a former CIA director who hated the new president could possibly muster.

    

Of course, in Brennan’s world, six to eight years ago, he was the spymaster guy. The one man brave enough to tell the world that Trump was ‘wholly a tool of Putin’ and ‘not smart enough’ to deal with any of them.

     

Trump gives ‘aid and comfort to the enemy,’ insisted the CIA director at every appearance. Look at that stony glare, the set jaw.

    

The growls and snarls continued through the first Trump presidency and through the faux presidency that followed it. If networks needed someone to dump on Trump, Brennan was right there.

If a letter needed to be signed or thought to be a useful tool against Trump, Brennan had the paper, pen, and list of names to add to manufacture it.

Brennan’s little list of penpals wound up being recycled for everything from protest ads in the New York Times to letters of objection when Trump pulled his security clearance.

    

Brennan has always been on the attack against Trump until he wasn’t.

It seems that suddenly the brakes have come on the tough guy act.

I’m not sure if it’s a full moon or simply the mysterious appearance of hidden burn bags of awkward evidence.

…Remember in July 2016, John Brennan went to Obama and briefed him that Hillary Clinton was going to invent this Russian collusion story to distract from her email scandal...

Wait.. John Brennan did that? 

Well, hang on. 

That would mean that John Brennan knew that the eight-plus years of Russia, Russia, Russia hysteria he has been fomenting and railing about and condemning Trump for was all Hillary Clinton-manufactured Bulls**t Bulls**t Bulls**t from the very beginning.

This would mean John Brennan has been exposed as a scumbaggy liar of epic proportions who has watched as lives have been destroyed, the country nearly delivered into the hands of God knows what evil, and he should face consequences for his dishonorable and vile actions.

That would explain why the snarling Mr Hyde, TOOL OF PUTIN John Brennan has miraculously morphed into Dr. Jekyll Brennan, the mild-mannered, non-political retired CIA director who seems like he now gardens during the week and raises rare poultry breeds.

Oh, it’s been a swift and tangible shift in the formerly determined Trump-bashing curmudgeon’s public demeanor.

Brennan has launched a full-court press personal charm offensive, designed to lull the gullible into forgetting that other guy ever existed.

What a nice man.

Brennan is back on his favorite propaganda network attempting to explain how “non-partisan and apolitical” he is.

I think that this instantaneous mellowing of one of the great villains in the national scandal tells you how serious it is, how damning what Tulsi, Patel, and Radcliffe have found is, and how guilty they are.

Trump never stopped bellowing his innocence. He and his maligned and abused associates never stopped publicly protesting the horrific injustices they were subjected to.

They never stopped fighting. And now all this God awful ugliness, un-American treachery is being exposed, and while their vindication is sweet, it can’t ever compensate for the harm done.

I hope Brennan and company are having a rough time sleeping at night.

It seems like he, at least, might be having cold sweats. 

It’s a good start.
