On the final episode of ABC’s The View before Inauguration Day, co-host Joy Behar launched into a fiery critique of President-elect Donald Trump, claiming that his election was “not normal” and suggesting irregularities in the 2024 election process.

Behar, a vocal Trump critic, also expressed frustration over what she described as a lack of resistance to Trump’s presidency from male political figures.

Behar opened her remarks by accusing prominent male politicians of failing to stand up to Trump.

“You know what bothers me is the capitulation that’s going on everywhere,” she said.

“At this point, Michelle [Obama], Nancy [Pelosi], Kamala [Harris], and Karen Pence are standing up against Trump. The men are folding like cheap suits.”

Her comments drew agreement from co-host Sara Haines, who noted that women have often been at the forefront of resistance efforts.

“It’s the women,” Haines said, prompting applause from the studio audience. “It’s just like the legislation.”

Behar escalated her critique by questioning the legitimacy of Trump’s re-election and his upcoming inauguration.

“This is not a normal inauguration. This is not a normal person,” Behar said, emphasizing Trump’s legal history.

“He’s a convicted felon. Why do they go as if this is a normal inauguration?”

These comments mark the latest in a series of criticisms from Behar, who has repeatedly accused Trump of undermining democracy and inciting division during his time in office.

The episode also featured a segment where co-host Whoopi Goldberg floated a conspiracy theory involving Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and Elon Musk.

Goldberg suggested that the two might be plotting to sideline Trump and consolidate power for themselves. “I think Elon Musk believes he’s president,” Goldberg said. “I’ve called him vice president. I called him president because I don’t know what JD is doing.”

Behar joined in, speculating on the possibility of a “Musk/Vance” administration. “He’s planning the presidency when he’s gonna get rid of Trump,” Behar said.

The program has faced increased scrutiny in recent weeks due to legal challenges arising from statements made by the panel.

One notable correction involved comments about Pete Hegseth, the Defense Department nominee under the incoming Trump administration.

The panel had previously repeated unsubstantiated allegations against Hegseth, which prompted legal action and an on-air retraction.

During a December 1 episode, co-host Sunny Hostin issued a formal correction. “Pete Hegseth has denied any wrongdoing. His lawyers said he paid the woman in 2023 to head off the threat of a baseless lawsuit,” Hostin stated. She emphasized that no charges were ever filed against Hegseth.

The correction was one of several legal notes read on-air in recent weeks, addressing inaccuracies about politically charged topics, including President-elect Trump’s legal cases and incoming border czar Tom Homan.
