Podcast host Joe Rogan took aim at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday, warning that the actions of the Ukrainian leader and the U.S. government could push the world toward World War III before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

The comments came amid escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine, which reached a new high in November after Joe Biden authorized Ukraine to use U.S.-supplied long-range missiles for strikes inside Russia.

Joe Biden hosts a joint press conference with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine in the East Room of the White House on December 21, 2022. The Ukrainian President visited Washington to meet with Biden and US lawmakers during his first trip outside his country since Russia began its violent invasion of Ukraine in February.

The approval, granted on Sunday, has drawn significant attention, as many view it as a potential escalation of the conflict.

On the latest episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan and his guest, American record producer Scott Storch, discussed the current state of global security.

Storch expressed a sense of relief that Trump would soon be back in office, saying he felt “safer” knowing Trump would lead the country for another four years.

Rogan, however, raised concerns about the ongoing situation in Ukraine. “What I don’t feel safer [about] is right now they’re launching missiles into Russia,” Rogan said.

“How are you allowed to do that when you’re on the way out? Like the people don’t want you to be there anymore. This should be some sort of a pause for significant actions that could potentially start World War III.”

Rogan went on to suggest that such actions, particularly in the final days of an administration, could be reckless. “Maybe that would be a good thing that we would like to avoid from a dying former president. The whole thing is nuts,” he added.

During the conversation, Rogan criticized Zelensky’s rhetoric, particularly a recent statement where the Ukrainian president claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was “terrified.” Rogan responded sharply, saying, “Zelensky says Putin is terrified. F*** you, man. F*** you people. You f***ing people are about to start World War III.”

The podcast host expressed his concerns about the potential consequences of escalating tensions, particularly in light of the nuclear threat posed by intercontinental ballistic missiles.

“Fing insanity because those intercontinental ballistic missiles can have nukes on them. This didn’t, but if it does, the whole world changes, and it changes because the military-industrial complex and it changes because of the money that’s going to Ukraine,” Rogan stated. “It changes because the outgoing president, or whoever the f is actually running the country, has decided to do something f***ing insane.”

Rogan also called out the mainstream media’s coverage of the situation, particularly CNN, which he accused of cheerleading the conflict.

“We’re all sitting there watching it, and people are cheering it on,” Rogan said. “CNN was saying, ‘Like finally’ — see what their headline was about Biden giving Zelensky the ability to use long-range missiles.”

The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has already resulted in significant global concerns, particularly regarding the potential for a broader military confrontation.

Former Ukrainian military commander-in-chief, Valery Zaluzhny, warned in a recent interview with Politico that “in 2024 we can absolutely believe that the Third World War has begun.”

These comments reflect growing concerns that the war could escalate beyond the borders of Ukraine.

The situation remains tense. Just days after Ukraine fired its first batch of U.S.-supplied long-range missiles on Tuesday, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine was temporarily closed, with staff instructed to shelter in place due to the threat of a significant aerial attack.

Zelensky has continued to speak out on the global stage, accusing other nations, including Israel, of being “afraid” of Putin and failing to support Ukraine sufficiently.

Speaking to Fox News on Wednesday, he told foreign correspondent Trey Yingst that Israel “has been afraid of Putin,” further fueling tensions.

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump, who is set to return to office in January, has repeatedly expressed his opposition to the escalation of the conflict.

Just two days after his election victory, Trump revealed that he had personally warned Putin not to escalate tensions with Ukraine during a phone call.

Trump’s approach to foreign policy has focused on reducing U.S. involvement in overseas conflicts, including his promise to ease tensions between the U.S. and Russia.

As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to unfold, the international community watches closely, with many wondering whether the situation could spiral into a larger global conflict.
