A Cincinnati city council member is facing backlash after appearing to justify and celebrate a brutal mob attack that left two white individuals seriously injured in downtown Cincinnati over the weekend, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
The incident occurred near the intersection of West Fourth Street and Elm Street, where a group of individuals was captured on video violently assaulting a white male, leaving him unable to stand.

Shortly afterward, a white woman was struck, causing her head to hit the concrete. She was knocked unconscious, and witnesses reported seeing blood coming from her mouth.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection to the attack. One of the suspects was reportedly out on bail at the time of the incident. Police have confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests are expected.
While the city and much of the public have condemned the violence, Cincinnati City Council President Pro Tem Victoria Parks sparked controversy by posting a comment on social media that appeared to support the attackers.

“They begged for that beatdown! I am grateful for the whole story,” Parks wrote in response to a Facebook post discussing the assault.

The comment quickly drew outrage, with critics accusing Parks of endorsing racial violence and inflaming tensions. Cincinnati mayoral candidate Cory Bowman highlighted Parks’ remarks and called for accountability.
“This type of rhetoric from an elected official is dangerous and unacceptable,” Bowman said.
Local officials and residents have called on the Department of Justice to investigate whether Parks’ remarks and the attack itself constitute hate-based or racially motivated violence.
Legal analysts have noted that public officials encouraging or applauding criminal conduct may face disciplinary or legal consequences, depending on the circumstances.
The victims in the assault have not been publicly identified. Their conditions have not been updated by authorities, but video evidence circulated online shows both individuals receiving medical attention after the attack.

The Cincinnati Police Department continues to review video footage and interview witnesses. Law enforcement has not released further details about the identities of the suspects or whether additional individuals may be charged.
Victoria Parks has not issued a public apology or clarification about her remarks. Council leadership has also not commented on whether any internal action will be taken regarding her statement.
Calls for her resignation have grown, with residents and community leaders demanding that city officials denounce violence and uphold accountability, regardless of political affiliation or race.
