President Donald Trump on Friday shared aerial footage of a recent U.S. airstrike targeting Houthi rebels in Yemen, marking another development in the ongoing military campaign against the Iranian-backed group.
The video, posted on his Truth Social account, showed what appeared to be a group of militants gathering before a massive explosion engulfed the area.
Trump wrote:
“These Houthis gathered for instructions on an attack. Oops, there will be no attack by these Houthis! They will never sink our ships again!”

The airstrike is part of a series of daily operations carried out by the Trump administration over the past 20 days. The strikes began in response to renewed threats from the Houthis against Israeli vessels in the Red Sea last month.

The threats emerged after the Israeli government halted humanitarian aid shipments intended for the Gaza Strip.
In late March, the Houthis claimed responsibility for attacks targeting the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and several other U.S. warships operating in the Red Sea. The group has also reportedly downed three U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drones since March 3, according to sources previously cited by Fox News.
In reaction to the first downed drone, the U.S. State Department imposed sanctions against the group. This past Tuesday, additional sanctions were announced targeting what officials described as “financial facilitators, procurement operatives, and companies operating as part of a global illicit finance network supporting the Houthis.”
On Monday, Trump issued another message through Truth Social addressing the progress of the campaign.
“The Iran-backed Houthi Terrorists have been decimated by the relentless strikes over the past two weeks. Many of their Fighters and Leaders are no longer with us. Our attacks will continue until they are no longer a threat to Freedom of Navigation. The choice for the Houthis is clear: Stop shooting at U.S. ships, and we will stop shooting at you. Otherwise, we have only just begun, and the real pain is yet to come, for both the Houthis and their sponsors in Iran.”

National Security Advisor Mike Waltz addressed the situation late last month during an appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
“These guys are like al Qaeda or ISIS with advanced cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and some of the most sophisticated air defenses, all provided by Iran. Keeping the sea lanes open, keeping trade and commerce open, is a fundamental aspect of our national security.”
The Houthis, designated a terrorist organization by the Trump administration during his first term, began escalating attacks in the Red Sea following the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led assault on Israel.
Security analysts have noted that the group has selectively avoided targeting Chinese and Saudi Arabian vessels, raising concerns about broader strategic motives behind the attacks.
In addition to the message aimed at the Houthis, Trump also issued a direct warning to Iran on Monday. He stated that if the attacks on U.S. and allied ships continue, Iran could be the next target.
