Thieves Target Army Reserve Center, Steal Armored Humvee and Much More in CA

Authorities are investigating the theft of military equipment, including three Humvees, from an Army Reserve Center in Tustin, California.

The theft occurred on Wednesday evening between 8 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Tustin Police Department.

The suspects gained access to the facility by cutting through a fence surrounding a military vehicle parking lot.

Once inside, they broke into multiple storage lockers, removing locks and taking a variety of military gear.

Police reported that while the suspects attempted to cut a lock to access uniform storage, they were unsuccessful.

Among the stolen items:

• One armored Humvee Model: M1151A1, ADMIN: HHC-06
• Two cloth-door Humvee Model: M1097s, ADMIN: HQ-61 and HQ-81
• Eight machine gun vehicle mounts
• Seven free-standing machine gun tripods
• Medical equipment
• 40 pairs of binoculars
• 18 bayonets

The suspects left the facility at an unknown time, and their identities remain unknown.

The Army Reserve confirmed to law enforcement that no additional loss of weapons or ammunition has been reported at this time.
