This Attack on America Is a Marvel

Disney strikes again. The company keeps trying to shake its woke image, but the image is there because Disney is woke and can’t hide the fact. 

I am not a superhero movie fan, although I did like Iron Man–perhaps because you can’t really make Iron Man too politically correct. Tony Stark is a boozing, womanizing arms salesman, and you can’t take the Merchant of Death out of a Merchant of Death, at least not entirely. So they killed him off instead. 

The same thing seemed to have happened to Captain America, who was shown to have aged out of his ability to defend Truth, Justice, and the American Way (or is that Superman?). 

The original Captain America was created during World War II and he was the epitome of American values–the best of us. An ordinary guy who goes on to do extraordinary things for the good of our country and the world. 

The new one? Yes, they replaced the aging Captain America with a new actor…well, he doesn’t actually LIKE America. 

I’m not joking. Captain America hates America.

Captain Venezuela or Captain Cuba, anyone?

The movie was already in deep trouble–it got terrible reviews in screenings and has had to be reshot and rewritten, and its budget has ballooned so much that it will have to make a billion dollars or so to make any money, and now the star of the movie attacks the audience as a bunch of degenerate boobs. 

A couple of months ago, Critical Drinker did a takedown of the movie before this new controversy broke out, and it looked like a disaster. 

If things weren’t bad enough before, watch the new Critical Drinker video. He lays it all on the line, and chances are that his analysis is the best you will see. 

Laurence Person has a nice post on how Disney still has a lot of woke projects to flush out of the system, and they are in no position to just drop them because they have so much money tied up in their production already. If they want to recoup any of it they have to bite the bullet and release them despite hideous prospects. 

Losing half your money is better than losing all of it, I suppose. 

Person provides a hilarious video that set the comments to the Snow White trailer to music, and it is a must watch. 

Disney has been bleeding cash and has made so many horrible business decisions that even the Mighty Mouse (see what I did there?) is having trouble recovering from the blows. 

Disney is in no danger of going bankrupt, but they are no longer the entertainment powerhouse they once were. They are living off the accumulated goodwill of a century’s popularity. What they are pumping out now is destroying that goodwill at an astounding rate. 

I mean, c’mon…how do you screw up Star Wars so badly?

Captain America and Snow White should be tentpole productions, and instead they are total disasters. Their stars hate America, and clearly the writers do too. 

That’s a tough thing to sell to a nation that just voted to Make America Great Again.
