A 22-year-old social media personality has been charged with murder after allegedly gunning down a U.S. Marine veteran in a Houston parking garage last month, according to local law enforcement, as reported by The New York Post.
The incident took place in front of the victim’s fiancée and 10-month-old child.
Justin Guzman, 22, who had a growing following on TikTok, surrendered to Houston police on Monday and was charged with the June 3 killing of 30-year-old Marine veteran Anthony Sanders.

A second man, 23-year-old Marko Cinan, has also been charged in connection with the shooting. Both are currently being held in Harris County Jail.
Authorities say Sanders approached Guzman and Cinan after the two allegedly insulted Sanders’ fiancée in an elevator at the Galleria Mall, where she worked.

Sanders and his family later encountered the pair again in the mall parking garage. After a brief verbal exchange, Sanders attempted to leave the area with his fiancée and infant son.
However, Guzman allegedly blocked Sanders’ vehicle and performed a “brake check,” preventing him from leaving the scene. When Sanders exited his car, police say Guzman shot him ten times. Sanders died at the scene as his fiancée and infant remained in the vehicle.
According to Houston police, officers initially detained Guzman, Cinan, and a third individual shortly after the incident but released them. Cinan later turned himself in to authorities on June 25.
In a court hearing Monday, Sanders’ parents — both U.S. Army veterans — provided footage from Guzman’s TikTok account as part of their push for justice. One of the videos allegedly shows Guzman dancing in front of a news broadcast reporting on the killing.
“We’re here for justice,” Frank Sanders, Anthony’s father, told KHOU. “Justice for Anthony and also to stand for what he stood for as a person. This was uncalled for.”

Guzman’s legal team claims he acted in self-defense, asserting that Sanders approached with a knife. However, authorities have stated that no weapon was found on Sanders or at the scene.
Guzman remains jailed on $750,000 bond, while Cinan — who has a prior criminal history — is being held on $1 million bond. Both men appear in multiple TikTok videos posted to Guzman’s account, which had over 50,000 followers prior to the incident.
In some videos, the pair can be seen mimicking gun gestures and pretending to shoot at the camera.
The investigation is ongoing.
