Tim Walz Fumbles Hard When Asked Who’s in Charge of the Democrats [WATCH]

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had an awkward moment when CNN’s Kasie Hunt asked him a seemingly simple question: “Who do you think the leader of the Democratic Party is right now?”

Instead of answering, Walz froze, staring blankly into the camera for several seconds before fumbling his response, as reported by The New York post.

Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz speaks at a voter appreciation event at Whitewater Music Hall in Wausau, Wis. on Friday, September 13, 2024.

“I think the voting public, right now, is what I would say,” he finally muttered, punctuating his uncertainty with an awkward laugh. The failed vice presidential candidate then admitted that his party isn’t exactly brimming with strong leadership.

“We’re not going to have a charismatic leader ride in and save us from this.”

It was a brutal moment for a party that’s already on the ropes heading into the next election cycle. If Walz—one of the Democrats’ supposed rising stars—can’t even name a clear leader, that speaks volumes about the disarray within the party.

⚔️⚔️⚔️ THE HIDDEN TRUTH

CNN asked Tim Walz a simple question: Who leads the Democratic Party? His answer? 🤡 Crickets.

Even they don’t know who’s in charge! No leadership, no direction, just a mess of radical agendas and failed policies. And they wonder why Americans are… pic.twitter.com/2gygr3C61I

Later in the interview, Walz was asked whether his former running mate, Vice President Kamala Harris, could be the future leader of the party. His response? Less than enthusiastic.

“I certainly think she could be,” he replied hesitantly. Hardly a ringing endorsement, but it’s not surprising. Harris’ popularity has been underwater for years, and her public appearances often leave more questions than answers. Even Democrats seem reluctant to fully rally behind her.

More importantly, in the next segment, he doesn’t dismiss the idea of running for president himself.

Walz’s awkward interview comes just days after he hinted at another shot at national office. Despite his resounding defeat in November, he told The New Yorker Radio Hour that he’d “certainly consider” running for president in 2028.

“Look, I never had an ambition to be president or vice president. I was honored to be asked,” he claimed. But then he left the door wide open for another bid, saying, “If I think I could offer something … I would certainly consider that.”

It’s a bold statement for a man who just got rejected by voters nationwide. Even Walz seemed aware of the optics, joking that if the public said, “Dude, we tried you, and look how that worked out,” he’d be fine with stepping aside.

Still, Democrats don’t have a deep bench, and with President Joe Biden’s age and Harris’ floundering approval ratings, the party is desperate for someone—anyone—to take the reins.

But if Tim Walz is the answer, that says more about the Democrats’ leadership crisis than anything else.
