Speaking to reporters at the White House on Monday morning, Border Czar Tom Homan warned that public officials who interfere with immigration enforcement operations and harbor illegal aliens will continue to face arrest and prosecution by federal authorities.

Homan’s remarks came just days after two judges, one in New Mexico and another in Wisconsin, were arrested by the FBI for allegedly aiding and abetting criminal aliens.

The arrests mark a significant escalation in the Trump administration’s effort to crack down on officials obstructing immigration enforcement.

“Just NOW, the FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction — after evidence of Judge Dugan obstructing an immigration arrest operation last week,” FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X.

“We believe Judge Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, allowing the subject — an illegal alien — to evade arrest. Thankfully, our agents chased down the perp on foot and he’s been in custody since, but the Judge’s obstruction created increased danger to the public.”

According to federal authorities, Judge Dugan’s alleged actions during the attempted arrest inside her courthouse endangered not only law enforcement officers but also members of the public who were present at the time.

The illegal alien involved, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, was apprehended shortly after fleeing the scene.

The situation was further detailed by Attorney General Pam Bondi late last week.

Bondi confirmed that Judge Dugan would face federal obstruction charges, and emphasized that interfering with immigration enforcement would not be tolerated.

“No public official is above the law,” Bondi stated, adding that undermining lawful immigration operations puts entire communities at risk.

In a separate incident, another judge from New Mexico was arrested for similar charges related to aiding an illegal alien in evading federal authorities.

The Department of Justice has not yet released the full details of that case, but officials have indicated that additional charges could be forthcoming.

Homan reiterated on Monday that the Trump administration remains committed to strict enforcement of immigration laws.
