On the November 15 episode of her podcast, Calm Down, which she co-hosts with Charissa Thompson, Andrews opened up about the challenges of navigating constant harassment.

“They’re looking for you to get upset and defend yourself,” Thompson explained, adding that sometimes they respond to the barrage of negativity just to push back. Andrews echoed these sentiments, admitting the pressure can be overwhelming.

But Andrews isn’t one to let trolls have the last word.

On December 2, after an X user posted a dismissive comment suggesting it was time for Andrews, 46, to step aside for a “younger blonde/brunette,” she delivered a pitch-perfect retort.

The internet erupted with support for Andrews, with many noting the double standard between male and female sportscasters.

While older male broadcasters continue their careers without scrutiny, women in the industry often face ageism and misogyny.

Andrews’ response was praised for its humor and grace, with fans applauding her for standing her ground.

This wasn’t the first time Andrews turned an uncomfortable moment into an empowering one.

During a November game in Tampa Bay, a fan on X commented that Andrews was “out here with a glow!” Andrews, ever quick on her feet, clarified the situation.
