‘Trudeau of California’ Leadership Fails [WATCH]

California Governor Gavin Newsom is once again under fire for his leadership—or lack thereof—as devastating wildfires wreak havoc across Southern California, as reported by Fox Business.

This time, the criticism comes from Kevin O’Leary, Chairman of O’Leary Ventures, who pulled no punches during his appearance on Varney & Co. on Friday. O’Leary likened Newsom to Canada’s controversial former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, labeling him as a “terrible manager” overseeing a state in disarray.

“It’s tragic what happened here. Gross mismanagement,” O’Leary said, pointing to the massive wildfires consuming over 27,000 acres, destroying more than 10,000 structures, and leaving 10 people dead. He continued, “Gavin Newsom is the Justin Trudeau of California. He’s horrific.”

O’Leary didn’t stop there. He urged Californians to demand new leadership, suggesting the state’s citizens are exhausted by Newsom’s policies. “People should want to make a change and hire somebody else,” he asserted. “They’re so tired of the rhetoric, the policy, the taxes, and the mismanagement.”

The wildfires, including the Palisades, Eaton, Kenneth, Hurst, and Lidia Fires, have left communities reeling. Entire neighborhoods are gone, and families have been uprooted as California faces yet another season of destruction.

While many have pointed fingers at the state’s preparedness and infrastructure, Newsom has deflected blame, even sparring with former President Trump over the issue.

During an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Newsom fired back, “One can’t even respond to it. I mean… people are literally fleeing. People have lost their lives. Kids lost their schools. Families completely torn apart. Churches burned down. This guy wanted to politicize it. I have a lot of thoughts, and I know what I want to say — I won’t.”

O’Leary argued the chaos began long before the fires. He cited San Francisco as an example, describing it as a “war zone” plagued by crime and lawlessness. “And now L.A., before this, was riddled with crime, people walking in and out of stores, just stealing stuff,” he said. “It is time for change.”

One viral video circulating online captures a desperate California mother confronting Newsom about the lack of water pressure in fire hydrants, which she claims contributed to the devastation.

O’Leary reacted strongly to the clip, saying, “He says, ‘Ah, it’s a local thing.’ You can’t say that when you’re a politician. You have to own the problem. He doesn’t even understand that. Time for him to get removed from office immediately.”

O’Leary’s sharp critique joins a growing chorus of voices demanding accountability for what many view as years of failed leadership. From crumbling infrastructure to soaring crime rates, the calls for Newsom’s resignation are louder than ever.
