Trump Accuses Democrats of Leaking Intelligence on Iran Strike; FBI Launches Investigation [WATCH]

President Donald Trump on Thursday publicly accused Democrats of leaking a classified intelligence report related to recent U.S. military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

The leak, which revealed details of an early Pentagon assessment, has triggered an ongoing FBI investigation.

In a statement posted on Truth Social Thursday afternoon, President Trump wrote, “The Democrats are the ones who leaked the information on the PERFECT FLIGHT to the Nuclear Sites in Iran. They should be prosecuted!”

The leak first came to light earlier in the week after CNN reported on the contents of a “Top Secret” intelligence assessment concerning the results of U.S. airstrikes on Iran.

According to the leak, an initial analysis from the Pentagon’s intelligence arm indicated that Iran’s nuclear facilities were “largely intact” and that the strikes had only set back Iran’s nuclear capabilities by several months.

CNN read portions of the report live on air Tuesday, attributing the information to anonymous sources who had access to the classified assessment.

The claim has since been refuted by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

A separate leak to the Associated Press echoed similar conclusions, suggesting that the U.S. strikes did not “completely and fully obliterate” Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

Both outlets acknowledged that the report was classified and not intended for public disclosure.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the matter in a press briefing on Wednesday, confirming that the FBI is investigating the source of the leak.

“This is a matter of national security, and we are taking it very seriously,” Leavitt said.

She noted that federal law enforcement was already working to identify who may have shared the information with the press.

When asked Thursday by Fox News reporter Aishah Hasnie how confident the White House is that the leaker will be found, Leavitt pointed to the possibility that the breach originated from within Congress.

“It is possible this information came from Capitol Hill,” Leavitt said.

“We are working closely with the relevant agencies and congressional leadership to determine how this highly sensitive information was released.”

The leak has prompted concern over how classified military intelligence is handled and who has access to it.

According to standard U.S. procedures, top secret assessments are distributed on a need-to-know basis to senior officials in the executive branch and select members of Congress.

The report in question concerns the outcome of U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025, part of a broader military operation ordered by President Trump amid concerns over Iran’s uranium enrichment activities.

While the Pentagon has not publicly confirmed the full extent of damage to the targeted facilities, President Trump and White House officials have described the operation as a success.

The unauthorized disclosure of a contrary internal assessment has reignited debate over congressional access to classified material, especially following previous leaks tied to sensitive foreign policy matters.

As the FBI investigation continues, members of Congress from both parties are likely to face increased scrutiny over the handling of secure intelligence documents.

President Trump has emphasized that individuals responsible for the leak should face criminal prosecution.

The White House has not released further details about the timeline for the investigation or what measures are being taken to prevent future leaks of classified material related to national security operations.
