President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has climbed to 50% among likely U.S. voters, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll released Monday.

The survey marks a notable turnaround from just two weeks earlier, when the same poll showed Trump with a 47% approval rating and a 52% disapproval rating.

As of the latest numbers, 48% now disapprove of the president’s job performance.

The seven-point swing in Trump’s net approval margin reflects voter response to an aggressive policy rollout during the early months of his second term.

Since returning to office, Trump has signed more than 140 executive orders—an unprecedented pace aimed at reversing policies implemented under Joe Biden.

Immigration has been one of the most prominent issues on Trump’s early agenda.

He re-declared a national emergency at the southern border and reinstated immigration enforcement policies that had been curtailed by the previous administration.

Among the most widely discussed measures is a voluntary self-deportation program, which offers illegal immigrants $1,000 and a return flight to their country of origin.

🚨 BREAKING: The Trump administration is today announcing they will pay illegal aliens to self-deport on commercial flights.

The flight will be paid for, plus a $1,000 stipend.

The administration has described the initiative as a cost-saving approach to reduce deportation expenses by up to 70%.

Trump has also taken a hardline stance on trade.

On April 2—referred to by some in the administration as “Liberation Day”—Trump imposed a 10% tariff on all imported goods.

The policy includes higher rates for imports from countries such as China, Mexico, and Canada.

The announcement caused temporary volatility in the financial markets, but White House officials have signaled that the tariffs are part of a broader effort to promote domestic manufacturing.

Over the weekend, the president expanded his trade agenda by targeting the foreign film industry.

Trump directed the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative to implement a 100% tariff on all movies produced outside the United States.

Trump says “Hollywood is being destroyed” while saying foreign made movies should be tariffed.

“Hollywood is being destroyed … If they’re not willing to make a movie inside the United States, then we should have a tariff on movies that come in.”

“I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands,” Trump wrote.

On the domestic front, Trump has also initiated significant structural changes to the federal government.

The newly established Department of Government Efficiency is being led by Elon Musk and is tasked with reducing waste and streamlining operations.

The department has already begun dismantling federal programs tied to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and is overseeing the closure of the Department of Education.

In foreign policy, Trump has withdrawn the United States from both the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Accords.

He has officially designated Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations.

Although Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum declined Trump’s proposal to deploy U.S. troops to assist in cartel operations, the move signaled Trump’s continued focus on aggressive border and security measures.

The latest polling suggests that Trump’s approach is resonating with a significant portion of the electorate.

With his approval rating at 50%, Trump appears to be regaining momentum as attention begins to shift toward the 2026 midterm elections.

His rising popularity could further solidify his influence over Republican lawmakers and conservative policy priorities in the months ahead.
