President Donald Trump sharply criticized the federal judiciary Sunday night in a series of posts on Truth Social, targeting both the Supreme Court and a federal district court judge following recent rulings affecting his administration’s policies, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
Trump’s remarks came after a legal dispute involving tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. The Supreme Court previously ruled against tariffs imposed by the Trump administration under that law.
Earlier this month, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit rejected the administration’s request to delay the Supreme Court’s ruling on tariffs.

Following that decision, a federal judge appointed by former President Bill Clinton ordered the Trump administration to refund approximately $130 billion in tariffs.
The Supreme Court ruling blocking the tariffs was supported by Chief Justice John Roberts, along with Justices Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson.
Three justices dissented from the decision: Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, and Brett Kavanaugh.
Despite the ruling, Trump previously told reporters that the decision still confirms his authority to impose tariffs using other legal avenues.

“I don’t think the court meant that, but it’s the way it is,” Trump said.
The president later signed an executive order implementing global tariffs of 10 percent under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, which permits the president to impose tariffs of up to 15 percent for a period of 150 days.
In posts published on Sunday, Trump criticized the Supreme Court’s decision and argued the ruling benefits foreign competitors.

“The Hundreds of Billions of Dollars that our Adversaries want our Country to pay back to others that have disrespected the U.S.A., until I came along, should be marked down, in the eyes of the Public, as just another reason why the United States had been in such major decline — But, not anymore, because we have MADE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN and, very soon, it will be GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!” Trump wrote.
Trump also praised the three justices who dissented from the ruling.
“I want to thank Justices Alito, Thomas, and Kavanaugh for their Wisdom and Courage pertaining to the TARIFF case, and for understanding, in addition to the Law, that our ‘Unfriendly Competitors’ should not be reimbursed and rewarded for the decades of Damage they have caused THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the president wrote.
Trump also criticized the justices who supported the ruling, arguing that the court had acted unfairly.
“The Democrats on the Court always ‘stick together,’ no matter how strong a case is put before them — There is rarely even a minor ‘waver.’ But Republicans do not do this,” Trump wrote.
He added that Republican-appointed justices sometimes distance themselves from the presidents who nominated them.
“They openly disrespect the Presidents who nominate them to the highest position in the Land, a Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and go out of their way, with bad and wrongful rulings and intentions, to prove how “honest,” “independent,” and “legitimate” they are.”
Trump also referenced the court’s handling of election litigation following the 2020 presidential race.
“They wouldn’t even call out The Rigged Presidential Election of 2020, because they said that I, as President of the United States, did not have ‘standing’ to challenge it,” Trump wrote.
In a separate post, Trump criticized the broader federal court system.

“The Courts treat Republicans, and me, so unfairly, always seeming to protect those who should not be protected. They are highly politicized. Cases don’t matter, the Judge does!” Trump wrote.
Trump also directed criticism toward James Boasberg after the judge quashed a Justice Department subpoena targeting Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
The subpoena sought information related to cost overruns during the renovation of the Federal Reserve complex in Washington, D.C.
Trump argued that Powell’s handling of the renovation project warranted scrutiny.
“How is this absolutely terrible Federal Reserve Chairman, Jerome ‘Too Late’ Powell, not even allowed to be investigated for the horrible job he does?” Trump wrote.
He also criticized the renovation project itself.
“It is THE HIGHEST PRICED BUILDING, PER SQUARE FOOT, OF ANY PROJECT EVER BUILT, with no end in sight, and may not even be open for many years to come.”
Trump also criticized Boasberg’s role in blocking the investigation.
“I strongly criticized Jerome ‘Too Late’ for his horrible performance throughout his tenure, which is either gross incompetence, total dishonesty, or both, and, in return for this well-justified criticism, get viciously and wrongfully blamed by, as usual, a Wacky, Nasty, Crooked, and totally Out of Control Judge, named James Boasberg.”
Trump continued by calling for consequences against the judge.
“In case after case, Boasberg has displayed open, flagrant, and extreme partisan bias and contempt against Republicans and the Trump Administration. To preserve the integrity of the Judiciary, he should be removed from all cases pertaining to us, and suffer serious disciplinary action.”
The president concluded his statement by criticizing what he described as a broader problem within the court system.
“What Boasberg has done on the ‘Too Late’ Powell case, and many others, has little to do with the Law, and everything to do with Politics.”
