President Donald Trump may be poised to repeat one of the greatest mistakes ever made by a Republican president. There’s still plenty of time to correct course, but it won’t be without a cost. A more apt acronym, as suggested by political analyst Nate Silver, is TORTA: Trump Often Regrets Torching Approval. Trump is responsive to public opinion.
