President Donald Trump’s nominee, Jeremy Carl, is going on offense after Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer accused him of white supremacy.
Carl, Trump’s nominee to serve as assistant secretary of state for international organizations, was accused by Schumer in a post on X of having “a long history of racist, white supremacist, and antisemitic views,” stating that disqualifies him from serving in State Department. “Jeremy Carl’s nomination should go no further, and he should be forced to answer during testimony for his long history of violent, racist, and antisemitic rhetoric,” Schumer wrote.
Carl, in a post on X, came out swinging at the New York senator, asserting that he opposes racism, antisemitism and white supremacy. He accused Schumer of only disavowing racism and antisemitism when it wasn’t coming from his own party.
“I actually completely reject racism, antisemitism, and White supremacy no matter who engages in it,” he wrote. “You appear to only disavow racism, antisemitism and racial supremacy if you think you can use those words as a cudgel to beat Republicans, which is why you haven’t denounced the anti-White racist comments of Texas Democratic House leader Gene Wu or Democrat Congresswoman and U.S. Senate candidate Jasmine Crockett ‘The only people that are crying are the mediocre White boys’ Crockett.”

The nominee went on to claim that Schumer is “scared” of a potential primary challenge from within his own party in 2028, with many speculating it could come from New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has repeatedly dodged reporters’ questions about a possible run. (RELATED: AOC Dodges When Asked If She Threatened To Primary Chuck Schumer)
Carl also pointed to Schumer’s book, Antisemitism in America, writing that “just a few months after that book came out you wouldn’t denounce the most prominent anti-Semite in your party, the mayor of your own city, Zohran Mamdani,” whom he accused of supporting boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel and repeatedly calling to “Globalize the intifada.”
He further pointed to a Jewish News Service article titled “Chuck Schumer’s Moral Cowardice Has Enabled Antisemitism.”
Carl concluded his rebuttal to the Senate minority leader by saying, “Seems like you should get your own house in order before criticizing others.”
