President-elect Donald Trump has indicated plans to issue close to 100 executive orders upon taking office on January 20, according to senators and multiple reports.

These executive orders will address a range of issues, including border security and energy policy, and signal Trump’s intention to move quickly on his agenda.

On Wednesday, Trump met with Senate Republicans to discuss his plans.

During an appearance on Fox & Friends Thursday morning, Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., shared insights from the meeting, noting the scope of executive actions Trump plans to implement. “He threw that out — 100 — there could be like 100 EOs, yeah. I believe him,” Mullin said.

Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., echoed Mullin’s comments, telling The Hill that Trump’s plan includes a significant number of executive orders. GOP senators were reportedly briefed on the details of these planned actions during the meeting, with a focus on border security and immigration reform.

Stephen Miller, a key figure in Trump’s upcoming administration, reportedly discussed the use of executive authority during the meeting.

According to Axios, Miller emphasized plans to prioritize immigration and border issues starting on day one.

Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., also confirmed that a large number of executive orders are in the works. “There will be a substantial number,” Hoeven said, as reported by the Associated Press.

Trump’s swift use of executive orders would allow him to advance his policies without immediate reliance on legislative action.

However, GOP lawmakers have signaled their intent to work with him on enacting legislative priorities.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., have both pledged to support Trump’s agenda as it moves through Congress.

In addition to discussing his plans with Republican senators, Trump addressed the challenges posed by the current administration.

In a post on Truth Social earlier this week, Trump criticized Joe Biden for actions taken during the transition period. “Biden is doing everything possible to make the TRANSITION as difficult as as possible, from Lawfare such as has never been seen before, to costly and ridiculous Executive Orders on the Green New Scam and other money wasting Hoaxes. Fear not, these ‘Orders’ will all be terminated shortly, and we will become a Nation of Common Sense and Strength. MAGA!!!” Trump wrote.

Reports of the planned executive orders have sparked discussions about the potential impact of Trump’s return to the Oval Office.

While the use of executive authority allows for immediate action, Republican lawmakers are also preparing to work collaboratively on legislative efforts to solidify Trump’s priorities into law.

Trump’s ambitious plans for his first days back in office suggest a determined approach to fulfilling campaign promises and advancing his vision for the country.
