President Donald Trump wasted no time setting the record straight when the media attempted to pin the blame for skyrocketing egg prices on his administration.
Just weeks into his return to the White House, left-wing outlets are already twisting the narrative, ignoring the disastrous economic policies that led to this crisis in the first place.
As reported by The Gateway Pundit, while making his way to the Daytona 500 from Palm Beach International Airport on Sunday, Trump was bombarded with questions about the soaring cost of eggs.

The press, eager to shift focus from Biden’s economic failures, tried to spin the inflation crisis as a result of Trump’s policies.
“Well, there’s a flu. Before I got here, it was already at an all-time high,” Trump said, shutting down the absurd line of questioning.
“I’ve been here for three weeks. I have had nothing to do with inflation. This was caused by Biden. I had four years of virtually no inflation. So I’m just taking over. But I’ll tell you what, this country has made more progress in the last three weeks than it’s made in the last four years, and we’re respected again as a country.”
The numbers back him up. When Trump first took office in 2017, a dozen eggs cost roughly $1.32. During Biden’s tenure, that price skyrocketed, hitting a shocking $4.15 by December 2024—a staggering increase of nearly 200%, according to the Federal Reserve of St. Louis.

But the media conveniently ignores these facts, opting instead to push their preferred anti-Trump agenda.
White House spokesperson Leavitt wasn’t having any of it when a reporter attempted to tie the egg crisis to Trump’s return.
“I’m really glad you brought this up because there is a lot of reporting putting the onus on this White House for the increased cost of eggs,” she fired back.
“I would like to point out to each and every one of you that in 2024, when Joe Biden was in the Oval Office or upstairs sleeping, I’m not so sure, egg prices increased 65 percent.”
She then dropped the real bombshell:
“What is also that (the egg shortage) is that the Biden Administration and the Department of Agriculture directed the MASS KILLING of more than 100 million chickens, which has led to a lack of chicken supply in this country, therefore a lack of egg supply.”

Meanwhile, Trump’s administration is already moving to fix the problem. White House Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett revealed that a smarter, science-based approach is in the works to prevent unnecessary mass culling.
“What we need to do is have better ways with biosecurity and medication and so on to make sure that the perimeter doesn’t have to kill the chickens. We have a better, smarter perimeter. And so having a smart perimeter is what we’re working on. And we’re finalizing the ideas about how to do that with the best scientists in government,” Hassett explained.
He also emphasized that there’s no real reason for wiping out millions of chickens when the real culprits spreading the disease are ducks and geese.

The media, of course, ignores these details, preferring to keep up the charade rather than admit Biden’s reckless policies created yet another economic mess.
