This afternoon President Trump signed an executive order titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports.”

“This doesn’t have to be long. It’s all about common sense,” Trump said before signing the order, adding that “women’s sports will be only for women.”

Trump declared, “The war on women’s sports is over.”

Trump was joined in the East Room of the White House by Independent Women ambassadors Riley Gaines, Payton McNabb, Paula Scanlan, Sia Liilii, Lauren Miller, Kim Russell, Kaitlynn Wheeler, Linnea Saltz and Lily Mullens.

Gaines, who hosts OutKick’s “Gaines for Girls” podcast, was among the champions of fairness of women’s sports after sharing her experience in the 2022 NCAA Championships with Lia Thomas.

Standing outside the White House, Gaines highlighted the contrast between what Trump did today and the previous administration.

There are apparently two parts to the current order.

First, officials said, the administration will roll back the Biden administration’s guidance on Title IX, a civil rights law that prevents sex-based discrimination in education programs and activities that receive federal funding. Under that guidance, schools were required to allow trans students’ to access school sports teams and sex-segregated facilities that align with their gender identities. Trump’s order will, instead, bar students assigned male at birth from participating in girls’ and women’s sports and using women’s restrooms. The Education Department will be tasked with investigating potential violations, and the administration “will be asking for investigations,” the officials said.

Second, officials said, the administration will work with sports governing bodies, including the International Olympic Committee, to ensure the guidance is followed in noneducational settings.

“Students assigned male at birth” aka boys. The article above was written by reporters for NBC Out so this is what you get.

The second part may turn out to be even more important than the first. It sounds like the White House will be making a concerted effort to persuade outside organizations to follow their lead.

The Trump administration also believes it has a “role to play” with sporting bodies, the official said, and plans to bring sporting organizations to the White House to “listen to the stories of female athletes and their parents.”

Additionally, Trump “does expect the Olympic Committee and the NCAA to no longer allow men to compete in women’s sports,” Leavitt said.

While Trump does not have legal authority over the International Olympic Committee or National Collegiate Athletics Association, Leavitt said the executive action “starts a very public pressure campaign on these organizations.”

“He expects these organizations to comply with this federal executive order,” she said.

Democrats are certainly welcome to protest and carry on but polls show a majority of people agree with this. In fact the numbers have been trending up.

A Gallup survey of U.S. adults conducted in May 2023 found that nearly 70% of respondents said trans athletes should only be allowed to compete on sports teams that correspond with their birth sex, up from 62% in 2021.

Finally, credit to the White House for putting together a signing ceremony worthy of Ronald Reagan. Whoever planned this deserves a raise. Just look at this. The visuals are a win no matter how the media talks over it.
